Proof that pets are the best models

When I buy a new phone, there is one very important thing I must do first.
No, not calling people.
Not checking apps.

Taking photos and making videos. Because of course we need to test the quality, right?

I love taking different pictures, but the thing I love the most is when I see a pet just waiting for me to take a photo of them.
Yes. Pets can pose.
They probably think: “F...k, okay, let me pose for one minute. Maybe I will get treats.”

Or maybe they just don’t care. Because they know they are beautiful. 😂
They know I will post their photos somewhere. And they know people will comment how cute they are. 😉😉

A few months ago I bought a new iPhone because my old one’s battery was literally taking its last breath. And before losing all my data… I ran.

Thanks to my mobile network subscription, I have the option to get a new phone every two years. Until I wrote this article, I actually thought I had an iPhone 15. Guess what? I actually have an iPhone 16! 😂 I didn’t even realize it. This shows how little it matters to me what kind of phone I have. The main thing is that I have a camera and internet access! 💪

I’m very happy with the camera quality. I mean… I don’t sell photos. I don’t need perfection.
For macro photos, there is a real camera. My phone is for fun, memories, and… pets 😄

Like always, the first thing I tested was taking photos of pets everywhere I went.
And honestly… everyone around me has pets.
So how am I supposed to ignore that? Impossible.

Of course, another important thing is learning how to use the camera properly.
My husband taught me a lot...and yes, I actually remember most of the rules 😉

The two things he always tells me...
Lighting
Modes

Lighting is the most important part of photography. It always matters.

One of the best time to take photos is Golden hour. That means, you take pictures one hour after sunrise or one hour before sunset. The light is soft and warm, and the photos look more beautiful.

Then there is night mode to use when it's dark... obviously. 😂 So... hold your phone steady. Let night mode brighten the photo for you.

Portrait mode is my favorite mode. It blurs the background. It makes the subject stand out. You can change the blur later, which is very useful. Also, something my husband learned me. ☺️

Burst mode is good for action shots or fast animals. Slide the shutter to take many photos at the same time. I am not an expert at this yet. I am still learning. 😄

But, taking the photo is only half of the job. Editing is the other half.

The iPhone already has great built-in editing tools...light, color, crop, everything.
Yes, you can use apps, but honestly… right now I’m very happy with the iPhone editing.

Okay okay… I know.
The iPhone 16 is already “old” because a new one is out.
But I’m still happy 😆

Because I love taking photos of animals, I mostly use Portrait Mode.
And I’m impressed.

Not because my photos are some crazy masterpieces...but because the quality and editing on the iPhone are really good.
