Boom!
Thank you Mr Jefferson.
This is a photo of a statue of Thomas Jefferson that I took at Monticello, Charlottesville, VA.
Boom!
Just like that and it's another Fourth of July. A very happy Independence Day to all of my fellow Americans.
Obligatory firework picture
I am very thankful having the chance to live through another 4th of July. America certainly has its share of problems, however during my life, it has been a pretty good run all in all.

Happy 4th! Oops, I just looked and now we are 8 minutes into the5th ! ha ha....almost!
Happy belated 4th! Charlottesville is a nice place to spend some time, any day of the year. The whole area reeks of history. :)
I spent one 4th in Boston, you need to do that one year. But honestly, I have never had a bad time in Boston. No matter when I am there.
Hi, Paul! Whatcha knowing?
I know you are a big fan of Boston. I guess I am more of a small town type of guy. I drive slow and am always being beeped at in these fast paced big towns!
I wrote you on your last reply, but not sure if you ever got it so Ill share it here:
Oh yes I did go to Charleston and walked my booty off in the heat all over 3 plantations over the course of a week. Almost stepped on a copperhead, saw lots of gators and have the mosquito bites to prove it. I will also have posts for the foreseeable future all about it. 😁
Do you remember the miniseries with Patrick Swayze called The North and the South? Thats the oaks and also where my daughter got her name from.
Boston gives you an intimate look at her history. Nothing about it seems larger than life, except perhaps the stories. I am convinced that you would embrace the culture there. I drive there, although it is better navigated on foot.
I'll meet you at the Old South Meeting House and find a place to have a cuppa.
I did see that post and thought I commented? I love Charleston and frequented it when I lived in South Carolina. I also went last year. I missed going to the Auction House. But those trees! Gorgeous! The moss used to creep me out at night! 😳
Yes indeed the Old South Meeting House sounds like a good plan!
I feel I am learning all about Boston vicariously. See I follow a British couple on TicTok that just moved to Boston. It is fun to watch them experience all manner of Americana for the first time! They love it there! 😀
There is nothing like following someone new to an area!! They show you everything!
How fun!!
