La Señora Jaguar / Mrs. Jaguar y su cena

La señora jaguar llega a su hogar
tiene hambre y quiere cenar,
se sienta y mira a ver qué hay
pero la mesa vacía está.

Se levanta con ansiedad,
debe ir a conseguir comida para cenar
toma un caballo de palo que cerca está
y que es su apoyo emocional.

Mrs. Jaguar comes home.
She’s hungry and wants dinner,
so she sits down to see what’s there,
but the table is empty.

She gets up anxiously;
she has to go find something to eat for dinner,
she takes a wooden horse that’s nearby
her emotional crutch.

Se va en su caballo saltando
hasta que llega a un hogar cercano,
entra con cuidado
y encuentra un delicioso bocado.

Lo toma con agrado
y se va en su caballo de palo,
lleva una cena de sabor magno,
un bocado del tamaño indicado.

He rides off on his horse,
until he reaches a nearby house,
enters cautiously,
and finds a delicious snack.

He happily takes it
and rides off on his stick horse,
carrying a dinner of the finest flavor,
a snack just the right size.

Llega a su casa y en la mesa deja
el bocado que trajo para la cena,
va a dejar al caballo en su cueva
y mientras tanto una hormiga llega.

El insecto se come el bocado
y cuando el jaguar llega a devorarlo,
solo queda un pequeño pedazo
y se lo come con agrado.

He arrives home and sets down on the table
the snack he brought for dinner,
goes to put the horse in its stall,
and in the meantime, an ant comes along.

The ant eats the snack,
and when the jaguar arrives to devour it,
only a small piece remains,
which he eats with relish.

La hormiga sale afanada,
teme que la señora jaguar dañó le haga
pero no, es un animal con buena alma
y que por esas cosas, no se enfada.

Sabe que la hormiga tenía hambre
y la dejo comer sin afanes,
le quedó un pedacito no muy grande,
pero con eso sacio su hambre.

The ant scurries out,
fearing that the jaguar might hurt her,
but no, she is a kind-hearted animal
and doesn’t get angry over such things.

She knows the ant was hungry
and lets her eat in peace,
there’s a small piece left over,
but that’s enough to satisfy her hunger.
