The Joy of Mobile Photography

I think one of the best uses of our smartphones is taking photos with them. That is what makes them the best camera we have because we carry them with us almost all the time. Personally, I never leave mine behind; it is always with me wherever I go. It has become an extension of my adult life, since every interesting memory I have captured in photos is stored on my phone.

With the level of technology in today’s smartphone cameras, it might not be long before DSLRs become obsolete, or maybe not entirely. But I do feel that over time, the demand for expensive DSLR cameras will decrease. Even I, who once dreamed of owning a DSLR, no longer feel the need to buy one. My phone already captures the moments I want to preserve, and it is incredibly convenient to use.

Take tonight, for example, when I saw the sky looking absolutely stunning, I instantly pulled out my phone and was able to take some photos in the moment. Could I have done the same with a DSLR? Probably not, because I would have left it at home. It is bulky and takes up too much space in my bag.

As for the photos I took, although the sky had beautiful colors, I chose to turn them into black and white images, simply because I liked the look. I also wanted to see how the scene would feel without the colors. I was amazed by the result. It looked like a Silverstone image. I am definitely keeping them.
