Photography: The Castle of Soave (Verona - Italy)-[EN] [IT]

Soave is a town in the province of Verona (Italy).
This town of just over 7000 inhabitants is known for two things in particular:
1 - For the Scaliger castle.
2 - The typical wine that bears the very name of the town, namely Soave.
In this post I show photos of the Castle of Saove. This is a typical military building from the Middle Ages and is considered one of the best examples of a castle structure in the Veneto region.
After the various historical research, it was concluded that this monumental fortified structure probably dates back to the early 10th century.
Going to research the past of this castle, it turned out that there were many battles around its walls. One of the most important battles occurred after 1250 years when the castle was conquered by Mastino I della Scala.
The importance of this castle grew disproportionately during the rule of the Scaligeri. Cansignorio degli Scaligeri restored it in 1369, and in 1375 he started the construction of the great wall that surrounded the entire castle.

Questo paese di poco più di 7000 abitanti è noto per due cose in particolare:
1 - Per il castello Scaligero
2 - Il tipico vino che porta proprio il nome del paese, cioè Soave.
In questo post mostro delle foto del Castello di Saove. Questo è un tipico edificio militare del Medioevo ed è ritenuto uno dei migliori esempi di struttura castellana del Veneto.
Dopo le varie ricerche storiche si è giunti alla conclusione che questa monumentale opera fortificata risale probabilmente agli inizi del X secolo.
Andando a ricercare nel passato di questo castello è risultato che intorno alle sue mura ci sono state tante battaglie. Una tra le battaglie più importanti avvenne dopo il 1250 anni in cui il castello fu conquistato da Mastino I della Scala.
L'importanza di questo castello crebbe a dismisura durante la dominazione degli Scaligeri. Cansignorio degli Scaligeri lo restaurò nel 1369 e nel 1375 avviò la costruzione della grande cinta muraria che circondava tutto il castello.

Confermo che le mura affascinano subito, sono alte ed imponenti e testimoniano quante volte questo posto in passato abbia dovuto difendersi. Una volta dentro all’edifcio si prova una certa sensazione di protezione. Chissà com’era vivere qui nel 1200 o al tempo degli Scaligeri. Vuoi che non abbiano mai fatto un festeggiamento o banchettato con un po’ di birra?! !BEER

Bellissimo castello, davvero ben conservato! L'alternanza dei colori rosso e bianco dei diversi materiali di costruzione utilizzati contribuisce poi sicuramente al suo fascino.
