Yet another rainy day, art and history, and life

There are a lot of museums, churches, and art galleries in the area I am in that I am still yet to really explore. It seems as if much of these locations are stumbled across with much surprise, not really noticing them in the months before. I've really been wanting to go to more exhibitions and museums recently, finding more beauty in the artistic world and wanting to escape the more chaotic city life in which we roam from one shop to another in search of material items. I have recently found myself in that similar lifestyle, trying to find shops which sell clothing I actually like, trying to find more items to purchase and fill the days with. As someone that loves drawing, it is a constant battle to not check out every art shop imaginable. To feel the need to buy new sketchbooks when previous ones are yet to be filled. Enjoying the quiet atmosphere of a museum or art galley is something I think not enough people give themselves the chance to experience. While the art isn't always great, there's something to take from it, something that keeps you connected with culture and history as your eyes roam the rows of paintings and sketches. The same can be said with historical locations, reminding you of the eras that came and went, the realisation that yours will also. Etchmiadzin Cathedral isn't too far away, and it's regarded as one of the oldest churches in the world; I'm still yet to really explore it.
The night rained throughout its entirety, going well on into the day and evening. Walking through it, in search of a flower shop for a gift for a birthday, I saw old Ladas passing through the flooded streets. Dogs with fur puffed out with strong shapes as they lingered around in the rain. Others stay kept safe under the dry of buildings, sleeping away the day that is otherwise pointless for them. Nothing to do, nothing to eat. Just endless puddles of water in their way. I felt it. Having to cross streets numerous times, missing crossings, taking each step with far more consideration than usual. A hoodie and a coat over me, shielding me from some of the cold and wet. Having to protect the camera from most of the rainfall that was threatening it a bit too much. Brief moments of opportunity to pull it out and capture something. Though the life in the area was far more sporadic. Less stray dogs. Less people around. More cars, however. A brief stop at Etchmiadzin Cathedral for a few photographs in the area.
The smell of the fresh air was the most beautiful thing. Such quiet and open space. Trees holding a little more colour than the months before. A sense of peace from it all. Roaming with the camera, and taking the odd photograph of moments that seemed worthy. Though the exterior today seemed less interesting. Less emotional; though I guess to some degree a lack of emotion is still a sort of emotion. Interiors had that safety, warmth within. The more gentle tones from candlelight and colour that wasn't heavily muted from the dark gloom of clouds above that softened the light from the sun. It's always interesting how weather changes an area, how the general mood differs. How even something as simple as warmth and colour can really change how people interact with that space. The happier looking faces. The energetic. On days like these, it's like everyone decided to stay home and give you the world for a day.

Such kind of rainy days make me want to stay home, tuck myself in my sheets and lay on the bed all day.
I really like your pictures, they have a sort of vintage vibe that is really nice
Thank you :)
I wish there was a place more for the sharing of photography and the emotion behind it here on Hive. Sometimes I feel like these posts don't really suit the same communities others use.
Oh I can understand that, but I honestly believe you should keep posting them because they're great!
That candles shot is particularly nice.
Rainy days are great for being able to get stuff done in relative peace as everyone sensible is staying home out of it, but I also generally prefer staying home out of it especially here where the rain is cold and I don’t tolerate cold 😅
I'm not too bad at it. I don't mind the cold. I think heat is worse for me, especially in the night where you can't really do anything about it.
I'm curious as to whether I'll survive summer here, haha
Wet towels over fans if you don't have aircon XD
Good luck! It's thinking about cooling down here and my shoulder is starting up already, not looking forward to winter x_x
