Making hallacas at my in-laws' house.

¿Que tal se encuentran? Espero que muy bien. Navidad está a la vuelta de la esquina y por acá nos seguimos preparando para festejarla cumpliendo con nuestras tradiciones y haciendo todo lo necesario para que esta festividad sea mejor cada año. Hace un par de semanas hicimos hallacas en casa por primera vez y el pasado domingo fue el día de hacerlas en casa de mis suegros. Cada año nos reunimos en su casa para hacer hallacas y aunque este año hicimos por nuestra cuenta también fuimos a ayudar y compartir como es costumbre.

How are you feeling? I hope that very good. Christmas is just around the corner and here we continue to prepare to celebrate it by complying with our traditions and doing everything necessary to make this holiday better every year. A couple of weeks ago we made hallacas at home for the first time and last Sunday was the day to make them at my in-laws' house. Every year we meet at his house to make hallacas and although this year we did it on our own we also went to help and share as usual.

Este año no estuvieron todos presentes para hacer las hallacas, faltaron mis cuñados y hasta mi sobrina Amaya, solo estuvimos nosotros con mis suegros pero aun así la pasamos bien, ayudamos y compartimos. A mí siempre me ha gustado hacer hallacas y es por eso que ayudar a hacerlas no fue un problema para mí, de hecho entre mi suegra y yo las hicimos muy rápido, no tardamos tanto como los años anteriores y creo que también se debe a que ya tenían todo preparado desde el día anterior y eso sin duda nos adelantó y facilitó mucho el trabajo.

This year not everyone was present to make the hallacas, my brothers-in-law and even my niece Amaya were missing, only we were there with my in-laws but we still had a good time, we helped and shared. I have always liked to make hallacas and that is why helping to make them was not a problem for me, in fact between my mother-in-law and I we made them very quickly, it did not take as long as previous years and I think it is also because They already had everything prepared the day before and that undoubtedly made us ahead of schedule and made the work much easier.

Como es costumbre hicimos las hallacas escuchando gaitas y tomándonos algo, a medida que se iban haciendo las hallacas las íbamos cocinando y por supuesto también como siempre almorzamos con las primeras hallacas que estuvieron listas, no perdimos tiempo para hacer el control de calidad y debo decir que estaban muy deliciosas. En total hicimos unas 97 hallacas, las cuales son más que suficientes para la cena navideña y de fin de año y además comer durante estos días. Mi suegra también hizo unos cuantos bollitos picantes con los ingredientes que sobraron, estos si no me gustan porque no me gusta el picante pero a todos aquí les gustan esos bollitos. En fin, ya estamos más que preparados para la cena navideña, hay muchas hallacas para comer en estos días y son pocos los preparativos que faltan.

As usual we made the hallacas listening to bagpipes and having a drink, as the hallacas were being made we cooked them and of course also as always we had lunch with the first hallacas that were ready, we did not waste time to do the quality control and I must say which were very delicious. In total we made about 97 hallacas, which are more than enough for Christmas and New Year's dinner and also to eat during these days. My mother-in-law also made a few spicy buns with the leftover ingredients, I don't like these because I don't like spicy but everyone here likes those buns. Anyway, we are already more than prepared for Christmas dinner, there are many hallacas to eat these days and there are few preparations left.
