Jiffy and Orangetheory Coach No. 202

Tiffany and I or as they call us in OTF land (Jiffy), we have lucked out by being able to add two more Orangetheory Fitness coaches to our list of OTF coaches we have worked out for as a couple.

We are about to begin our third week back from our three month injury layoff tomorrow and didn't have much optimism of adding coaches to our list, because we wanted to stay local for now. With that said, Coach Brandon came in from OTF Clermont to sub for Head Coach Christen at OTF Nona South; who went out of town for a wedding.

Coincidently, we ran into Coach Brandon last week when Tiffa and I drove out to Clermont to workout for our 201st OTC Coach Ahmed. Brandon knew who we were, because of social media - of course.

Although, we rested yesterday; today was a rough one for me. I struggled and experienced what I'm probably going to deal with for the rest of my life. The cervical injuries I sustained including the rib impact has definitely creeped in as the doctors predicted. It's permanent damage, so it's just dealing with it and taking it easy whenever possible.

With that said, I had an incredible workout. Burned the calories and splats that I didn't believe I was going to accomplish today, but exceeded it and Coach Brandon did a great job in handling yet another smaller group than OTF members are accustomed to.

Brandon is one of those coaches that actually started out as an OTF member and eventually became a coach. He's also a former boxer, so he brought the energy and the motivation.

This made me chuckle 😁.

Glad you are able to get back to working out: have you had any advice about activities to do or to avoid?

In every session, Coaches offer modifications to everyone for most exercises.

If it’s specific injuries like mine or Tiffany’s we discus it with the coaches.

If you been going as long as we have, we tell the coach; what we are going to do instead of a certain exercise. We earned that lol.

Hi, Jimmy and Tiffany.
This is great news that you did so well Jimmy!
Congrats on doing better than you thought you would.
I'm sorry about your injuries, but it looks like you are doing pretty darn well. 🙌🙌
OK Jimmy and Tiffany, now I get the Jiffy LOL - I'm a little slow 🤣 🤣
Jiffy is a cute name for you two. 😊
Have a great day and evening.

Thank You Barb!

Good days and Bad days, but at least we are working out again.

The three months we weren’t was torturous.

HOPE your weekend was awesome!!

The best thing you can do with that type of injury is to find out how you can work around it and not let it control your activity; rather, you control the activity.

I have confidence that you got this!
