Floating Donut

There was a time that I love bringing with me floaters whenever I’m on the beach or in the pool because first, I don’t know how to swim, second, it adds color to my photos, and lastly, it’s fun lying or sitting in floaters while drinking cold Piña Colada. Recently, resorts do not allow big floaters in the pool and they always say to use them only on the beach but it’s so difficult to use floaters when the water is not calm and when there are waves. I thought I won’t be able to use it again not until we discovered this huge sandbar in Negros Oriental. It’s also known as the “Maldives of the Philippines” and since I haven’t been to the Maldives then I’ll just say I believe it.

The sandbar really has pristine blue waters and white sand comparable to our very own Boracay! But I think they dubbed it to be like the Maldives because of the floating cottages that you can stay in overnight. We traveled a long way just to be on this island so we had to stay for a night, and it was really a challenge because there was no electricity at night, they do have emergency light provided and that’s it. So, I don’t recommend staying a night here if you have kids or Seniors because water is limited and if there are emergencies then it would be difficult to bring you back to the dry land.

But overall, we really had an amazing day on the sandbar as if we own the whole island when all the tour boats left. What do you think? Does it look like a place you could spend time with your friends? Have you tried staying for a night on a sandbar?
