Contemplando el atardecer | [es/en] 📸

Desde el cambio de estación, los días son más largos. Ahora son las 8 o 9 de la noche (aquí le dicen tarde) y el sol está en todo su esplendor. Lo bueno es que de alguna manera sientes que el día te rinde para hacer muchas otras cosas, como salir a caminar sin la excusa del frío, o que ya está oscuro, o que es demasiado tarde.

A mi me gusta caminar, pero sinceramente soy un poco floja para tramos largos. Ahora bien, eso no es excusa cuando salgo con mi mamá, esa mujer si que me hace caminar sin contemplación alguna. Ella se apasiona echándome los cuentos de la zona, lo que queda por aquí, lo que hay por allá, y así vamos sumándole kilómetros al recorrido al punto que los pasos del día superan al triple la meta diaria.

Hace unos días me dijo: “vamos, que te quiero mostrar un lugar precioso para ver la puesta de sol”. Ella sabe cuanto disfruto la fotografía, así que sus intenciones de llevarme a ese lugar eran claras, aunque sabía que eso significaría mucho por recorrer. La verdad, llevaba razón, a medida que íbamos adentrándonos en las caminerías del lugar, comenzamos a ver ese espectáculo de colores en tonos amarillos, rojos y naranjas que hacen de una puesta de sol una escena apacible, romántica, relajante, y por mucho, mágica.

Valió la pena cada paso que dimos ese día para llegar hasta allá, y valga decir que si fueron muchos pasos. La recompensa: contemplamos un atardecer precioso.; tomé varias fotografías, muchas de las cuales quería hacer hacía mucho tiempo; adicionalmente, fue un delicioso momento madre e hija. Por eso y más, siempre sobran motivos para agradecerle a la vida.

Contemplating the Sunset

Since the change of season, the days are longer. It's now 8 or 9 o'clock at night (they call it late afternoon here) and the sun is in its full glory. The good thing is that somehow you feel like the day is more productive to do many other things, like going for a walk without the excuse of the cold, or that it's already dark, or that it's too late.

I like to walk, but honestly, I'm a bit lazy for long distances. However, that's no excuse when I go out with my mom, that woman makes me walk without any contemplation. She gets passionate telling me stories about the area, what's left here, what's there, and so we add kilometers to the route to the point where the day's steps surpass the daily goal by triple.

A few days ago, she said to me, "Come on, I want to show you a beautiful place to watch the sunset." She knows how much I enjoy photography, so her intentions of taking me to that place were clear, although I knew it would mean a lot of walking. The truth is, she was right. As we ventured into the paths of the place, we began to see that spectacle of colors in shades of yellow, red, and orange that make a sunset a peaceful, romantic, relaxing, and magical scene.

It was worth every step we took that day to get there, and let me tell you, there were many steps. The reward: we contemplated a beautiful sunset; I took several photographs, many of which I had wanted to take for a long time; additionally, it was a delightful mother-daughter moment. For that and more, there are always reasons to be grateful for life.
