PODGACHE & LANISCHE

This is Lanische. Not the entire town, but almost. There are some small neighborhoods outside the frame. It's a small town, smaller than some villages south of there, but in sparsely populated Chicharia, Lanische is a historic urban center.

This is Podgache, the smaller village a couple of kilometers from Lanische.

In front of one of the old houses there, I found this lovely old stove. The winter in Chicharia is much colder than in my southern seaside area. The snow falls every year.

While driving from Lanische to Podgache, I stopped more or less halfway between the two ...

... and visited the graveyard.

Just like the town and the village mentioned before, the cemetery is situated on the edge of the long narrow valley which holds practically all of the agriculture of this rural area.

On the distant pastures, in the middle of the valley, the cows were enjoying the juicy grass and the early autumn sun. Although the morning started humid and cold, the weather was surprisingly hot and summer-like in the early afternoon.

Seven days ago I spent the morning driving around the northern edge of Istra, a region called Chicharia in the mountains near the border with Slovenia. I drove about a hundred kilometers to get there, and then I walked through the woods and meadows. I followed narrow country lanes and visited one town and three villages. In today's post, you'll see ( or you just saw) only two of those places. The town called Lanische, the biggest settlement on the Croatian side of that region, and the nearby village of Podgache. You'll also see (or you just saw) a bit of scenery around them and between them.

Hi @borjan , normally we see a person who accompanies you and generally participates in many activities with you , a loyal person is difficult to find , that person who accompanies you is loyal , not all people are , nor can they be called friends .
