My visit to Monaco, the second smallest country in Europe... and in the world!

Hello friends!!! A little over a year ago I visited this beautiful place, which I fell in love with practically from moment number one. Full of green mountains, pine trees, an order that you could breathe in every step you took, neatness, cleanliness, and look how much more relaxed I am!!!

But this place has somehow managed to display its richness in the incredible nature it encounters.

Although some believe it is part of France, it is not, but French is spoken in this state.

On the streets there are guards almost everywhere, guaranteeing a state of absolute security but without scaring or making any fuss. I remember that at one point, two of them very kindly approached me to ask me to put on my mask. I had taken it off for two seconds to eat something, and I don't know how they saw it, because I didn't even know they were there. In fact, that was the moment I actually noticed them (clearly I was traveling when the world was still responding to pandemic security measures).

There were some photos that went astray, and I have more but they are of this same landscape, so instead of making a collage this time, I selected the most striking ones to bring you an idea of what Monaco is like.

The truth is that at least all the nooks and crannies I visited were this impeccable. I walked through a beautiful park called "Saint Martin's Gardens", and in Montenegro there is the famous casino, which I did not visit. The truth is that at that moment I completely forgot about its existence. It is that, it is not an attraction that naturally interests me, so somehow my mind obviated it, but I must admit that if I had remembered the existence of that place, I would have gone there to see what all the fuss was about, hehe, they say it is very beautiful.

Another place I did go to, is the Palacio del Príncipe, which you can see in the pictures. It is where the canyon is and also where you can see the statue of the monk. It is a beautiful place, cared for to the extreme and with spaces that you can not step on. This place offers one of the most beautiful panoramic views of the city of Monaco.

Something that caught my attention and that I have left in the images, is that there were defibrillators on the public road. At that time I had very little travel in Europe. In truth this is something that is found in many cities, but I remember that at that time I took the picture because I thought it was extremely important that this was at the service of people.

Regarding how to get there, it is really quite simple. I know some people who have visited it by taking a cruise on the French "Côte d'Azur", but my case was quite different. When I traveled there, I had gone before with some friends to Menton from Nice, and then I continued on my way alone to Monaco because they had already gone. On the way back, I took the bus to the city of Nice, where I was staying. The trip lasted about half an hour, it was an excellent getaway.

I think this information is fundamental, because from Marseille, as well as from Nice or Menton, it is a trip that can be done maybe for one or two days, since the delay by bus is quite short. To Marseille it may take much longer, perhaps three hours, but it is still a great option if you stay several days in the area.

Mi visita a Mónaco, el segundo país más pequeño de Europa… y del mundo!!

Hola amigos!! Hace un poco más de un año visité este hermoso lugar, que me enamoró prácticamente desde el momento número uno. Repleto de montañas verdosas, pinos, un orden que se respiraba a cada paso que una daba, pulcritud, limpieza, ¡¡y miren que mi onda es mucho más relajada!!

Pero este lugar de alguna manera se las ha arreglado para desplegar su riqueza en la increíble naturaleza que se encuentra.

Aunque algunos creen que es parte de Francia, no lo es, pero en este Estado se habla francés.

Por las calles hay guardias casi en todos lados, garantizando un estado de seguridad absoluta pero sin asustar ni hacer ningún tipo de alboroto. Recuerdo que en un momento, dos de ellos se acercaron a mi muy amablemente a solicitarme que me colocara el tapabocas. Pues me lo había bajado dos segundos para comer algo, y no sé cómo lo vieron, pues yo ni sabía que ellos estaban ahí. De hecho, ese fue el momento en el que los noté efectivamente (claramente viajé cuando aún el mundo respondía a las medidas de seguridad de la pandemia).

Hubo algunas fotos que se extraviaron, y tengo más pero son de este mismo paisaje, por lo que en vez de hacer un collage esta vez, seleccioné las más impactantes para traerles una idea de lo que es Mónaco.

La verdad es que al menos todos los recovecos que visité eran así de impecables. Caminé por un parque bellísimo que se llama “Jardines de San Martín”, y en Montenegro está el famoso casino, que no visité. La verdad es que en ese momento me olvidé por completo de su existencia. Es que, no es una atracción que naturalmente me interese, por lo que de alguna manera mi mente lo obvió, pero debo reconocer que si me hubiese acordado de la existencia de ese lugar, hubiese ido como para ver por qué tanto alboroto, jeje, dicen que es muy bello.

Otro de los lugares a los que sí fui, es el Palacio del Príncipe, que pueden ver en las fotos. Es donde está el cañón y también donde se ve la estatua del monje. Es un lugar hermoso, cuidado al extremo y con espacios que directamente no se pueden pisar. Este lugar ofrece una de las vistas panorámicas más bonitas de la ciudad de Mónaco.

Algo que me llamó mucho la atención y que les he dejado en las imágenes, es que habían desfibriladores por la vía pública. En ese momento yo llevaba muy poco recorrido de Europa. En verdad esto es algo que se encuentra en muchas ciudades, pero recuerdo que en ese entonces saqué la foto porque me pareció sumamente importante que eso estuviera al servicio de las personas.

Con respecto a cómo llegar, en verdad es bastante sencillo. Conozco a algunas personas que lo han visitado por hacer un crucero por “La Costa Azul” francesa, pero mi caso fue bastante diferente. Cuando viajé hasta allí, había ido antes con unos amigos a Mentón desde Niza, y luego seguí camino sola a Mónaco porque ellos ya habían ido. De vuelta, me tomé el bus hasta la ciudad de Niza, donde me hospedaba. El trayecto tenía una duración de alrededor de media hora, la verdad que era una escapada excelente.

Creo que este dato es fundamental, porque tanto desde Marsella, como desde Niza o Mentón, es un viaje que puede hacerse quizás por uno o dos días, ya que la demora en bus es bastante corta. A Marsella sí puede ser que tarde bastante más, quizás tres horas, pero sigue siendo una gran opción si uno se queda varios días en la zona.
