Yesterday was extremely demanding from a work point of view, and there is nothing more beautiful than a serene walk through the city, especially by the sea, a few steps from the city's greatest monuments: the Swabian castle and the great cathedral.

During the day the monuments are always attacked by a large number of tourists and onlookers, amazed by the magnificence and grandeur of these works. The cathedral dates back to the 12th century AD. while the Castle was built the following century by King Frederick of Swabia.

Two decidedly different works in their function: the castle is a fortress that protected against enemy assaults, the cathedral a church that welcomes the faithful. A few hundred meters away they represent the historic center of the city, born in the immediate vicinity and from here the rest of the city has developed over the centuries. In the evening everything is so magical and the play of lights transforms this small city center into a truly enchanted place. How can we not love the art and architecture of our ancestors? But above all, the question I often ask myself is: how were they able to create such impressive works with the tools of over a century ago?

La giornata di ieri è stata estremamente impegnativa dal punto di vista lavorativo, e niente di più bello c'è che una serena passeggiata per la città, soprattutto in riva al mare, a pochi passi dai più grandi monumenti della città: il castello Svevo e la grande cattedrale.

Durante il giorno i monumenti sono sempre assaliti da una grande quantità di turisti e curiosi, stupiti dalla magnificenza e grandezza di tale opere. La cattedrale risale al XII secolo d.C. mentre il Castello è stato realizzato il secolo successivo dal re Federico di Svevia.

Due opere decisamente diverse nella loro funzione: il castello è una fortezza che proteggeva dagli assalti dei nemici, la cattedrale una chiesa che accoglie i fedeli. A poche centinaia di metri di distanza rappresentano il centro storico della città, nato nelle immediate vicinanze e da qui si è sviluppato il resto della città nel corso dei secoli. Di sera tutto è coso magico ed il gioco di luci trasforma questo piccolo centro cittadino in un luogo davvero incantato. Come non amare l'arte e l'architettura dei nostri antenati? Ma soprattutto, la domanda che mi pongo spesso è: come hanno potuto realizzare opere così imponenti con gli strumenti di oltre un secolo fa?
