Discoverd a new forrest to walk arround but beware .... ๐บ
Today i went to explore a new area for me , a forrest not so far from my wifes work, and since i had to bring her to work again this morning i decided to explore that new forrest a bit .
Today we came home with 178 photos as ussual some went in to the trashcan and some ended up in the archive to be posted on later dates .
The new area i went to is called Den Treek Henschoten , and is a private property , open to the public. you can find all info on their website https://www.dentreekhenschoten.nl/ .
A small quote however translated this was Yesterday :
**Wolf drags child into woods ๐บ
On Wednesday morning, July 30th, a child was bitten by a wolf (presumably Bram) and dragged into the woods. The child was with several adults and other children in the woods near the Pyramid of Austerlitz. While playing, the child was unexpectedly attacked by the wolf and dragged away.
Due to the prompt action of the adults present, who hit the wolf with a stick, the wolf released the child in the woods and ran away. The child was taken away by ambulance. The victim's condition is not yet known.
The Estate strongly advises visitors not to visit the area with children and/or dogs until the wildlife managers of the Utrecht Wildlife Management Unit have completed their work. Safety is paramount!**
But i went in anyway and spoiler alert i came out alive and so this is not AI generated . ๐
And so i give you 28 photo impressions of the area
Today we used the Sony A7IV camera and a combination of the Sony 24-105mm F4 G OSS and the Laowa 15mm F4.5 1:2 macro
1 ) From the parking lot i followed the bridleway , walking on the soft sand.
2 ) left over of an old pine tree , the view into the forrest is pretty limited .
3 ) could there be wolves stalking me ?
4 ) Did find a deer track in the sand , unless it was a wolf wearing high heels made of deer feet , who knows ..
5 ) Enough of the wolf story , lets just enjoy the beauty of nature.
6 ) there is even a path for bicycles on the left
7 ) typical human track not cleaning up after themselves
8 ) spotted some geese flying high and far away
9 ) Nature Area ... Do not Enter , stay on the path it is .
10 ) very large open area could be nice for spotting deers
11 ) hmm why build something for watermanagemnet when there is no water to be seen ...
12 ) Clouds are moving fast , next time bring tripod and 2nd camera for timelapse .
13 ) Playing with Laowa lens
14 ) Impatiens glandulifera Himalayan balsam and is on the naughty list of plants according to wiki pedia : In Europe, Himalayan balsam has been included since 2017 in the list of Invasive Alien Species of Union concern .
15 ) Onwards we go you can see what happens on the road but you have no sight into the tree line .
16 ) I had never seen this one before , so i asked google image search what the hell is it , and the answer is : Prunella vulgaris / common self-heal,
17 ) another path , created for moutain bikers , knowing the attitude of moutain bikers in the forrest i better keep on the wide road for now .
18 ) and we take a left to another sand path .
19 ) one big lonely berch tree , might be a good spot for mushrooms later this year .
20 ) Don't feed the horses , people always have good intentions but never think about animals having a special diet or allergy.
21 ) Ohh look Mushrooms , now i can make a fungyfriday post tomorrow if @ewkaw is still doing that .
22 ) and onwards we go over the sand path again , the sun showing it selfe every now and then, good thing i brought some extra light with me .
23 ) we came from the right sand track , and we are not going to take that left road , so we turn around and move on .
24 ) another road in to the oppesite direction , i can imagine people getting lost here .
25 ) a dry ditch and a track beside it probably for those mountain bikers .
26 ) another pine apple on the road and no squirels to eat it .
27 ) Chamerion angustifolium / fireweed / rosebay willowherb
28 )and now for somethling completly different the Larch
for those that have never seen Montey Phyton ...
Yes, its still on :)
good to know , will be posting mushrooms in the morning ๐๐๐
Glad there were no children discovered on your search!
It's that dangerous, well you are here so it's all good. The forest has a nice view by the way
the chance of getting hit by lightning is greater i guess ;)
Jeez!!!
I really commend you ๐ because I might not start the journey ever ๐ฅบ....
You do have eye for good sights and you know how to take good pictures
Glad you were able to return safe. Nice shots, by the way. The forest looked vast with confusing paths, it feels like I'd immediately get lost in it. Lol.
thank you , well with a litlle bit of digital help no one needs to get lost anymore these days . Our phone can give directions .
Ooppss! Yeah, I forgot we got phones to assist us with directions. Lol. ๐
Stunning place but I was thinking how lost I would get in there :D
Thank you for sharing your beautiful walk with us!
i used to ask my wife and daughter for directions , just to make sure we got lost somewhat , they both have a bad feeling for directions .
these modern times we have all kinds of digitsl options to find our way home again .
Or even find the other person if he / she is in trouble in my case i use https://owntracks.org/ on my home asistant server so i can find the wife if needed , she is diabetic and had some bad hypos in the past .
Most places like that here, a phone isn't going to do you any good other than to chuck at a bear if it is coming for you. :D
I would have no idea how to use that, but I never go far from home nowadays. I'm sorry you have to have that extra worry.
When I was visiting my son in Colombia, the whole small town found out fast that I got lost easily and didn't speak Spanish. But my daughter-in-law got a phone call if I left the house alone to go shopping, so I was safe even when I found myself in a bad part of town and could feel the eyes on me while I sat on a stoop to catch my breath. But there I stood out like a sore thumb with my all white hair, so it was easy for my son to find me from blocks away :D
ha ha i can imagine that the white hair stands out, over here a are a lot of grey people so that wouldn't really help me .
