A spring walk in the forrest
This morning i went for a walk with the wife in an area that we both didn't visit before.
Althoug we drive by it almost every day we never stopped at the place for a walk before .
Kasteel Stoutenburg / Castle Stoutenburg
https://www.utrechtslandschap.nl/gebied/natuur/heerlijkheid-stoutenburg
more info : https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Landgoed_Stoutenburg couldn't find an English version.
But in short the first setlement on this place was build back in 1259 , it was demolished in the 16th century and in the 17th century another family bought it and build another building , then another family came along and history repeated it self .
And today it's being used as a caretaker home for elderly people with dementia . The park arround it is accesible for the public during daylight.
1 ) They even have a track for children with signs like these :
2 acrobats squirels and martens can climb very well and have great balance , show us how good you are in keeping balance.

2 )Info sign about the nature arround the castle

3 )Horse chestnut tree , fresh young green leaves

4 ) On the left is the castle on the right is the carriage house that serves now as an imformation centre.

5 ) Daisies and dandelions all over the place

6 )

7 )Lamiastrum galeobdolon / yellow archangel

8 )Rowan tree leaves , there were also some flowerbuds already but to high to make a photo

16 )another natural framed photo

17 ) a long ditch with some reed on the side , in landscape mode

18 ) same ditch in portrait mode , let me know what you prefer :)

19 )More clouds and another farm

20 )flowering Prunus padus / bird cherry

21 )flowering Prunus padus / bird cherry

22 ) The flowers in this field are called pinksterbloem and are on the red list , always good to see some Cardamine pratensis / mayflower we even spotted some Orangetip butterflies that depend on these flowers.

23 ) The area has a lot of ditches , might be a good spot for dragon flies later on this year.

24 ) a small creek running here

25 )Mother duck and her ducklings

26 ) making a run from that scary photographer.

27 )One dead tree being consumed by mushrooms

28 ) Looks like the weather is going to turn, sun is hiding behind a big cloud

29 )Still able to capture some light blue sky in the reflections

30 )Although the clouds are getting a bit darker

31 )Another field filled with dandelions

32 ) Looks like one the eggs from the ducklings

33 ) There goes the blue sky

Love this walk! Horse chestnut tree is my favourite tree and first one my dad taught me to recognise with the leaves.
Nature rocks and am glad you stopped for once and went walking and shooting pictures!

A beautiful walk. 😍 I really liked the two photographs of inhabited trees, the one of the gnomes is an original idea, hehe and the one with the mushrooms is amazing!
In the case of photos 17 and 18 my choice is the landscape mode. And the geranium flowers magnified are spectacular!
thank you @Palomap3 , yes the gnomes were a nice surprise for us to, never seen them before presented in a way like that.
When I was a child there were some Spanish cartoons called David the Gnome and it reminded me of them. He lived in the roots of a tree, almost like these. ☺️
i rember that one :)
Yes! I didn’t know that had been broadcast outside of Spain. 😍
