Silence as an ally./Monomad Challenge [Eng/Esp]
Blessings, dear friends
Recently, a colleague asked me: "How do you avoid boring people with so many photos of Havana, how do you avoid being monotonous?" That question made me think, honestly. But then I realized that this city is so complex and mysterious that it's difficult to fall into monotony, as long as there is documentation and intention behind the photos that are shared. When I go out on the street, I take several ideas with me and try to develop them according to the possibilities. Now I want to highlight one: silence.
These snapshots 📸 are my submission for the #monomad challenge by @monochromes and @brumest.
In the early hours of the morning, there is an atmosphere of tranquility; people are on their way to work, children are on their way to school, and it seems like there is no one on the street.
Anyone who is used to walking around this city knows that it is very noisy: people, cars, animals... everything and everyone contributes to the noise. But there are certain times of day when everything goes quiet, and silence plays its part.
The squares seem like monuments to silence and contemplation.
Even taking photos is a delight, because you can concentrate without noise or distraction.
At least I concentrate better on the details of the architecture and see things that I would normally overlook.
Silence isn't always my best ally. I like the street with noise and movement, but sometimes I slip away and prefer these quiet hours to refresh my mind and seek a different outcome.

Hace poco un colega me preguntó: --¿cómo haces para no aburrir con tantas fotos de La Habana, para no ser monótono?-- Esa pregunta me hizo pensar, sinceramente. Pero después me di cuenta de que esta ciudad es tan compleja y misteriosa que difícilmente uno cae en la monotonía, siempre y cuando haya un trabajo de documentación e intención detrás de las fotos que se comparten. Cuando salgo a la calle llevo varias ideas conmigo y trato de desarrollarlas según las posibilidades. Ahora quiero resaltar una: el silencio.
En las primeras horas de la mañana hay una atmósfera de tranquilidad; las personas se trasladan al trabajo, los niños a la escuela y parece que no hay nadie en la calle.
Quien está acostumbrado a caminar esta ciudad sabe que es muy ruidosa: gente, autos, animales… todo y todos contribuyen al ruido. Pero hay ciertas horas del día en que todo se apaga, y el silencio juega su papel.
Las plazas parecen monumentos al silencio y al recogimiento.
Hasta para hacer fotos es un deleite, porque se puede uno concentrar sin el ruido ni la distracción.
Por lo menos yo me concentro mejor en los detalles de la arquitectura y veo cosas que normalmente pasaría por alto.
No siempre el silencio es mi mejor aliado. Me gusta la calle con ruido y movimiento, pero a veces me deslizo y prefiero estas horas de bonanza para refrescar la mente y buscar un resultado diferente.
Pues nada, amigos, estas son mis consideraciones. Espero que les hayan gustado las imágenes.

Así es amiga, lo curioso de todo esto por lo menos me sucede que en esos momentos de tranquilidad es una explosión de creatividad, cosas que a veces no me sucede cuando el ajetreo de la calle está en su máximo esplendor.

Thanks, mate. It turns out that the first architects of this city made the plans looking for better ventilation from the coast, and with tall buildings, you can see those shadows in the morning; it looks great.
