Of portraits, emotions, light and shadows / Monomad Challenge [Eng/Esp]

The photos 📸 are my entry to the #monomad contest from @monochromes and @brumest.

I had never been so aware of light as when I started doing black and white photography. I was always looking at other issues and I was overlooking the main element for a photographer, the light. To make these portraits I had to play a lot with this issue: light and shadow. I found that accentuating or lowering the intensity of some of these elements reinforces or diminishes the message I want to give. Today's selection has that approach and is part of the learning process I've been going through in this exciting world of photography. I hope you enjoy them.

Nunca había estado tan pendiente de la luz como cuando comencé a hacer fotografía en blanco y negro. Siempre pendiente a otras cuestiones y estaba pasando por alto el principal elemento para un fotógrafo, la luz. Para hacer estos retratos he tenido que jugar mucho con esta cuestión: luces y sombras. Descubrí que acentuar o bajar la intensidad de algunos de estos elementos refuerza o mengua el mensaje que quiero dar. La selección de hoy tiene ese enfoque y es parte del proceso de aprendizaje que llevo en este apasionante mundo de la fotografía. Espero las disfruten.

To be honest, I was very satisfied with the photos I took. Now, I know I still have a lot to learn, but with practice, discipline and patience I will get there. Yo, la verdad, quedé muy satisfecho con las fotos que hice. Ahora, sé que me falta mucho por aprender, pero con prácticas, disciplina y paciencia lo voy a lograr.
