Overhead Back-lighting/Contra-luces en cenital. MONOMAD Contest [ENG-ESP]

I'm not a photographer by any means, and I don't consider myself one. This doesn't mean I don't risk attempting photographic work, humble and under certain aesthetic interests that define my personal poetic pursuit of artistic expression. My training as a lighting designer and visual artist has allowed me to appreciate the value of light and shadow in their magical dialogue. My eye is trained to find interesting signs, perhaps to be myself seduced by the hidden language behind the object.

On a recent visit to one of the lonely parks in my town, I managed to capture some suggestions that the broken streetlights leave imprinted on my gaze. Without artificial light, under the midday sun, the lights seem to yearn for something beyond, to conquer the sun, like fingers reaching out, caressed by the natural backlight, capable of building direct bridges to my emotions.

Backlights, does not only define the angle with which the light draws the shape and its contour, it is an appropriation that aspires to tell other realities, that alludes to an almost poetic perception of that broken streetlight, in gray values and absolute monochrome to emphasize the purest quality, the naked essence of the visual composition.

No soy fotógrafa en modo alguno, no me considero como tal. Ello no significa que no me arriesgue a intentar una obra fotográfica, humilde y bajo algunos intereses estéticos que definen mi poética personal en busca de la expresión artística. Mi formación como diseñadora de iluminación y artista visual, me ha permitido apreciar el valor de las luces y las sombras en su mágico diálogo.
Mi ojo está entrenado para encontrar signos interesantes, acaso para dejarme seducir por el lenguaje oculto tras el objeto.

En una visita reciente a uno de los parques solitarios de mi pueblo, logré captar algunas sugerencias que las farolas rotas dejan impresas en la mirada. Sin luz artificial, bajo el sol del mediodía, las luminarias parecen anhelar algo más allá, la conquista del sol, como dedos que se extienden acariciados por el contraluz natural, capaces de tender puentes directos a mi emoción.

Contra-luces, no define únicamente ese ángulo con el que la luz dibuja la forma y su contorno, es una apropiación que aspira a contar otras realidades, que alude a una percepción casi poética de esa farola rota, en valores de grises y monocroma absoluto para enfatizar en la cualidad más pura, en la esencia desnuda de la composición visual.
