The magic of Akropolis, Athens in Greece #Monomad
I have been pondering for a while about what I should write about Akropolis itself... It was a surprise that I got to see it, and maybe it was even more magical since it was only a few hours from afar?
Panorama from the street below the hostel to Akropolis
When I checked in the helpful, young guy told me that I definitely had to check out the roof terrace, once I was up there I could see why!
This panorama illustrates how it felt to be up there, everything was visible, and in a way that definitely fused today with the past...
Stickers from visitors
There were a few people up there, I chatted with a couple of girls, although I can't remember the details I think it must have been about the atmosphere, it was really something these last hours before sunset.
Another panorama from the roof
Its hard to explain, in some way I felt very relieved seeing it. I could not identify any thoughts about it as such, it was definitely something which was coming from within.
A closer look
I think I had some pictures going through my mind a day or two before seeing this, a house on a hill, tall, slim trees like here, and a curtain blowing in the wind... Oh well, I might have been here before, way back 🙂
Actually I know someone online who is proficient in both Greek and Latin, he also understands a lot of the traditions on a deep level. He is even in the druid lineage, having learnt that tradition the proper way.
When I told him about this vibe, atmosphere or feeling I had there his answer was simple: that is because Athena is still there!
I have no problems believing that, especially since I often pick up things like these...
The temple of Artemis and surroundings
I'm pretty sure that this is the temple of Artemis. Seeing it from the ground when I walked under it all was really something, with those trees...
Temple of Artemis
Now, this is a broken up jpeg... But I still want to have this converted to a real silver print, it would be perfect for that because of the atmosphere I think. Simple, very classic, and a bit mystical.
Train & Akropolis
Of course we're in a modern world now, so a train with graffiti is also natural in this setting haha...
I do hope that I get back to Greece sometime... But if so I'll plan ahead, so that I can stay for longer, in rural, cheap areas. There is even a huge peninsula that is an orthodox state in the state, with monasteries and even hermits all over.
And that is a good way to end this series, there will be more up soon from other locations! #monomad
Que lugar tan maravilloso. Es fascinante caminar por encima la historia. Como me gustaría visitar ese sitio.
