When people do not observe me, I usually shoot my camera and photograph them. It is something which I do almost instinctively, because I recognize in those scenes, made in a furtive way, a type of eloquence not found in photos in which, more or less, the subjects notice my presence...

Cuando las personas no me observan, yo suelo disparar mi cámara y fotografiarlos. Es algo lo cual hago ya casi de manera instintiva, pues reconozco en esas escenas, hechas de manera furtiva, un tipo de elocuencia no encontrada en fotos en las que, más o menos, los sujetos se percatan de mi presencia...

This of "looking being simply a witness" is something that I find pleasant to do, because there is something of communion with the way of thinking to which I have arrived over the years. And I refer to something that may sound strange, something like saying that each of us is living in their own world and the others (or "us", however it is said) simply appear there, in the world of each one; and I do not refer to something physical, obviously, but to something that has to do, rather, with the consciousness of each of us as an individual. Then —it occurs to me— that those worlds, which are like particular dreams, simply overlap and it is then when we see each other...

Esto de "mirar siendo simplemente testigo" es algo que encuentro agradable de hacer, pues hay algo de comunión con la manera de pensar hasta la cual he llegado con el paso de los años. Y me refiero a algo que puede sonar raro, algo como decir que cada uno de nosotros está viviendo en su propio mundo y los otros (o "nosotros", como quiera que se diga) simplemente aparecemos allí, en el mundo de cada quien; y no me refiero a algo físico, obviamente, sino a algo que tiene que ver, más bien, con la conciencia de cada uno de nosotros como individuo. Entonces —se me ocurre— que esos mundos, que son como sueños particulares, simplemente se solapan y es ahí cuando nos vemos unos a otros...

Y hacer, de vez en cuando, este tipo de fotos, entonces, me hace sentir consciente de cómo podría ser ese asunto de que yo simplemente estoy habitando un entorno, el cual, de alguna manera, yo he creado y habito en una soledad únicamente rota cuando interactúo con esos otros que se asoman desde sus propios mundos... Y sí, ya sé que todo esto suena muy extraño, pero me gusta escribirlo y acompañarlo con mis fotos, pues, de alguna manera, es como explicarme a mí mismo mi naturaleza filosófica, cuyos basamentos, años atrás, me parecían una sarta de inventos no muy serios, nacidos en una cabeza demasiado ocupada por el trabajo. Pero los cuales, hoy por hoy, me parecen cada vez más factibles y sólidos...

And making, from time to time, this type of photos, then, makes me feel aware of how could be that matter of me simply inhabiting an environment, which, in some way, I have created and inhabit in a solitude only broken when I interact with those others who look out from their own worlds... And yes, I already know that all this sounds very strange, but I like to write it and accompany it with my photos, because, in some way, it is like explaining to myself my philosophical nature, whose foundations, years ago, seemed to me a string of not very serious inventions, born in a head too occupied by work. But which, today, seem to me more and more feasible and solid...

They were then exported to JGP format on which minor modifications such as straightening and adding watermarks were carried out using PhotoScape v3.7}
