Sometimes the town enchants me enough to surprise me by gazing at a scene, camera in hand, without even thinking about taking a picture. But this only happens "sometimes," not all the time. But yes, lately it's been happening more often... And also "sometimes" the town reminds me that I'm getting older, and that street scenes often immerse me in my memories, some so distant they seem like they belong to another life. And occasionally it's me looking, and other times it's someone looking at me. And yes, then I hear a voice as if saying, "Hey, take a picture, don't just stand there observing"... And somehow I'm "captive" by the fact that I've always lived among these streets, and so what I observe isn't just a photograph, but rather my past, present, and a bit of the future all intertwined there. I suppose that's the reason for this kind of "contemplative paralysis" that visits me "sometimes"...

Algunas veces el pueblo me hechiza lo suficiente, como para sorprenderme a mi mis mirando una escena con mi cámara en la mano sin pensar en disparar. Pero esto pasa solo "algunas veces" no todo el tiempo. Pero sí, últimamente me pasa con más frecuencia... Y también "algunas veces" el pueblo me recuerda que me estoy haciendo más viejo, y que con frecuencia las escenas callejeras me sumergen en mis recuerdos, algunos tan lejanos que ya parecen de otra vida. Y de vez en cuando soy yo mirando, y otras veces en alguien mirándome. Y sí, entonces escucho una voz como diciendo "Hey, toma una foto, no te quedes allí solo observando"... Y de de alguna manera estoy como "cautivo" por el hecho de haber vivido siempre entre estas calles, y entonces lo que observo no es solo una foto, sino que están allí entremezclados mi pasado, presente y algo del futuro. Supongo que a eso se debe esa especie de "parálisis contemplativa" la cual me visita "algunas veces"...

And it's not just because I get lost in thought, gazing at things and forgetting to take pictures, that I say "sometimes the town" reminds me I'm getting old. I also say it because of the tiredness, or the creaking of my knees when I bend down and then stand up, or the occasional stumble... And then I think things like: Will I ever put down my camera and just go out alone, looking around with my hands in my pockets?... And I don't have an answer, but I know that everything comes to an end sometime in time, and it's just a matter of getting there to see how it happens...

Y no es solo por mirarme embelesado mirando cosas y olvidándome de hacer las fotos, que digo que "algunas veces el pueblo" me recuerda que me estoy volviendo viejo. Lo digo también por el cansancio, o por los traqueos de las rodillas al agacharme y luego ponerme de pie, o por los ocasionales tropezones... Y luego pienso cosas como: ¿Será que alguna vez dejaré la cámara y simplemente saldré solo a mirar con las manos en los bolsillos?... Y no tengo respuesta, pero sé que todo tiene un final en alguna parte del tiempo, y es solo cuestión de llegar hasta allí para ver como sucede...

They were then exported to JGP format on which minor modifications such as straightening and adding watermarks were carried out using PhotoScape v3.7}
