Sometimes the street scenes in my town happen smoothly, as if everything that can be perceived simply has to happen because it has to happen and that’s it… I mean “not having to search” and going through the streets simply observing and coming face to face with moments to photograph, which seem to be there waiting for me to capture them… I call all this “everyday life” and sometimes it all happens around me while I am simply standing on a corner or perhaps sitting on a bench in some small square on the outskirts of town… The truth is that I enjoy those hours with things happening in the streets of the town, as if it were water running through a riverbed and I were just watching from the shore, clicking the shutter from time to time…

Algunas veces las escenas callejeras en mi pueblo ocurren suavemente, como si todo lo que puede percibirse simplemente tuviera que suceder porque han de suceder y eso es todo... Me refiero a "no tener que buscar" e ir por las calles simplemente observando y encontrándome cara a cara con momentos para fotografiar, los cuales parecen haber esto allí esperándome para que yo les capture... A todo esto le llamo "cotidianidad" y algunas veces todo ocurre a mi alrededor estando yo simplemente de pie en una esquina o quizás sentado en una banca en alguna pequeña plazoleta de las margn3es del pueblo... Lo cierto es que disfruto de esas horas con las cosas ocurriendo en las calles del pueblo, como si esto se tratase del agua corriendo por el cauce de un río y yo solo mirase desde la orilla, disparando el "click" del obturador de vez en cuando...

Photography, especially street photography, transformed me into a sort of semi-bohemian guy, I think... And the thing is, about fifteen years ago, a good part of my time was spent driving a car, flying in an airplane, shouting matches with subordinates or listening to those of my boss, worrying about the credit card, the mortgage, my new business, payments, payments and more payments, the car, clothes, vacations, and countless other things; until - I don't know exactly how - I ended up wandering the streets and dirt roads, talking to myself or to cats, or dogs, or even a cow, it doesn't matter... And, of course, taking everyday photos... Certainly, it still seems to me a rather strange change, but also "exquisitely good"...

A mi la fotografía, en especial la fotografía callejera; me transformó en una especie de tío medianamente bohemio creo... Y es que, hace que unos quince años atrás buena parte de mi tiempo se iba en manejar un auto, volar en un avión, pelear a gritos con subordinados o escuchar los de mi jefe, preocuparme por la tarjeta de crédito, la hipoteca, mi nuevo negocio, los pagos, pagos y más pago, el auto, la ropa, las vacaciones y un sinfín de cosas más; hasta que -no sé exactamente como- terminé deambulando por las calles y caminos de tierra, hablando solo o con gatos, o con perros, o incluso con una vaca, no importa... Y, claro, disparando fotos cotidianas... Ciertamente, no deja de parecerme un cambio bastante extraño, pero también "exquisitamente bueno"...
