A Cute Town in the East

Eastern Venezuela is one of the most incredible and beautiful areas that we can find in this vast expanse of land, where we will discover huge plains, which are crossed by mighty rivers, which lead us to an exuberant and exotic Caribbean. But in the midst of this natural beauty, it is very common to find towns and cities whose particular characteristics turn them into exceptional urban spaces, which stand out for their deep colonial roots, but whose inhabitants have a forward-looking spirit.

Un Lindo Pueblo de Oriente

El oriente venezolano es una de las zonas más increíbles y bellas que podamos encontrar, en esta vasta extensión de terreno, en donde descubriremos enormes llanuras, las cuales se ven atravesadas por imponentes ríos, los cuales nos conducen hacia un Caribe exuberante y exótico. Pero en medio de esta belleza natural, es muy común encontrarse con pueblos y ciudades cuyas características particulares se convierten en espacios urbanos excepcionales, los cuales se destacan por sus profundas raíces coloniales, pero cuyos pobladores poseen un espíritu con miras hacia el futuro.

Clarines is one of those small towns located on the side of the trunk road 9, at first glance it seems to be a simple and boring town, but to tell the truth there is no statement further from reality, because when we cross its arch and walk through its streets, we will discover a town that stands out for its incredible beauty, which is able to combine stone streets, with colonial houses and more modern buildings, all this always framed by a fairly dense natural environment, which sometimes makes us feel like in the plain, but at the same time incredibly close to the Caribbean coast.

Clarines es una de esas pequeñas ciudades que se encuentran a un lado de la carretera troncal 9, a primera vista pareciera ser un poblado simple y aburrido, pero a decir verdad no existe afirmación más alejada de la realidad, ya que al cruzar su arco y caminar por sus calles, descubriremos a un pueblo que se destaca por su increíble belleza, la cual es capaz de combinar calles de piedra, con casas coloniales y construcciones más modernas, todo esto siempre enmarcado por un entorno natural bastante tupido, el cual en ocasiones nos hace sentir como en el llano, pero al mismo tiempo increíblemente cerca de la costa caribeña.

This is a city of details, with a great commercial spirit where the colonial houses give us perfect postcards of a town that has managed to maintain itself despite the difficulties and this is because its roots are deep, its children grow up learning from the experiences of their parents and dreaming of a great and hopeful future.

Esta es una ciudad de detalles, con un gran espíritu comercial en donde las casas coloniales nos regalan postales perfectas de un pueblo que ha sabido mantenerse a pesar de las dificultades y esto se debe a que sus raíces son profundas, sus niños y niñas crecen aprendiendo de las experiencias de sus padres y soñando con un futuro grande y esperanzador.

There was no better technique to portray the peculiarities of this oriental corner than black and white, because through the traditional two tones we can enter this world that is real, is alive and thanks to the magic of photography is presented to us in the form of images, which speak for themselves, whispering in our ears how great and resilient is our people.

No existía mejor técnica para retratar las peculiaridades de este rincón oriental que la del blanco y negro, ya que a través de los tradicionales dos tonos podemos adentrarnos en este mundo que es real, está vivo y gracias a la magia de la fotografía se nos presenta en forma de imágenes, las cuales hablan por sí solas, susurrándonos al oído lo grande y resiliente que es nuestro pueblo.
