Fussy and unpredictable

Today is a big national day for Greece with many festivities and parades all over the country. The student parade took place a few meters away from our place and for a moment I considered documenting the event with my camera. Especially after the success of my previous post about the local fair and your kind comments urging me to do more often some street photography.

But then, I considered the loud speakers with the outdated songs that I’ve heard a million times, the crowded people trying to see their youngsters parading, the limited space to move around and finally the minimum chances to enjoy it and actually take a few descent shots, so I decided to skip it.

And deal again with my favourite, very quiet and very still subjects! Flowers, trees and the town itself, ignoring the fussy and unpredictable humans :)

In order to make my distancing from the events of the day even bigger, I chose a monochrome edit and almost abstract framing, using reality only as an excuse!

The first spring leafs of the trees, the bulbs ready to burst full of life and energy, the flowers and the lovely sun, fascinate me any way, even in a colourless, dark version.

The same goes for the details of the town, as fragments of the whole that create a new reality. A town that does not really exists but in my mind and through my lens :)
