Grandma and the paintings

From time to time I get home and I find her organizing the dishes or picking up and then throwing away the things that are already useless, a few days ago when I returned home in the afternoon I met this beautiful lady (my grandmother) organized between many other things, some remains of oil-based paints that we had left in the house since we had carried out the last construction processes, a few years ago.

Grandma, now 87 years old, is, fortunately for all of us who love her, an independent person who can do practically everything she wants, housework and so on, although the truth is that in the last few years if she has allowed us the other members of the family to help her much more.

This photographic series is casual, I arrived and took advantage of the moment to document the work I was doing at that time, surely you might wonder why I didn't tell you that I would do that instead of taking the photograph.Well, the truth is that if I asked him to let me help, he didn't pay much attention to me until almost the end, where he allowed me to shit some things that weighed a little more.

De vez en cuando llego a la casa y me la encuentro organizando los trastes o recogiendo para después botar las cosas que ya son inservible, hace unos días cuando regresaba en la tarde a la casa me encuentro con esta hermosa señora (mi abuela) organizado entre otras muchas cosas unos restos de pinturas a base de aceite que nos quedaban en la casa desde que habíamos realizado los últimos procesos constructivos, ya hace unos pocos años.

Abuela, con ya 87 años, es, por fortuna de todos los que la amamos, una persona independiente, que se vale por sí misma para hacer prácticamente todo lo que desea, labores domésticas y demás, aunque la verdad es que ya en los últimos años si nos ha permitido que los demás integrantes de la familia la ayudemos mucho más.

Esta serie fotográfica es casual, llegué y aproveché el momento para documentar las labores que estaba realizando en ese momento, seguro que pudieran preguntarse por qué no le dije que yo haría eso en vez de hacer la fotografía. Pues la verdad es que si le pedí que me dejara ayudar, no me hizo mucho caso hasta casi al final, donde me permitió cagar algunas cosas que si pesaban un poco más.

Let's talk now purely about photography.

The images were taken with my Canon 6d Mark 2 camera and with a Canon 50mm f1.8 lens, I positioned myself in the place, cleared where I would walk and let myself go, attention in many cases is my grandmother, in others, They are the objects or things with which he was relating, also the interrelation between all the present components.

The images were taken at sunset, this directly influences the final result of the photos, at this time of day the light is soft and lateral, warm, so the scene was not fully illuminated uniformly, which It allows me to play with lights and shadows and thus give more or less drama depending on what I want to convey.

The images are treated as a whole, but at the same time I try that each one of them by itself conveys a different story or feeling.

Hablemos ahora puramente de fotografía.

Las imágenes fueron realizadas con mi cámara Canon 6d Mark 2 y con un lente 50 mm f1.8 de Canon, me posicioné en el lugar, despejé por donde caminaría y me dejé llevar, la atención en muchos casos es mi abuela, en otros, son los objetos o cosas con los cuales se estaba relacionando, también la interrelación entre todos los componentes presentes.

Las imágenes fueron realizadas al atardecer, esto influye directamente en el resultado final de las fotos, en estos momentos del día la luz es suave y lateral, cálida, por lo que me iluminaba la escena no en su totalidad de una manera uniforme, lo cual me permite jugar con las luces y sombras y así dar más o menos dramatismos según lo que quiero trasmitir.

Las imágenes son tratadas como un todo, pero a la misma vez intento que cada una de ellas por si sola trasmita una historia o un sentimiento diferente.
