Wandering Around In A Fog

Still a bit foggy as to what to write about these photos. . .

Monday morning it was a bit pea soupy out, had to grab the Nikon and see what I could (and couldn't) see.

Usually try to keep an eye on the weather forecast, just in case Mother Nature decides to provide some fun photo conditions. A Dense Fog Advisory definitely counts as that, don't get too many of those here in Louisville.

Set some alarms the night before just to make sure I didn't miss it. Needn't have bothered, they had to extend the fog advisory because it decided to hang out until nearly noon.

Visibility was terrible, couple hundred yards at best, perfect for my purposes. In a rural setting, fog tends to lend the landscape a quaint, wholesome air, but here in the city it's more eerie and ominous. Plus it's as likely to be smog as fog.

Even the woods in Iroquois Park felt like something Gandalf would have warned the hobbits about.

Wound up wandering around in a fog for a few hours, until my stomach informed me that it required something more substantial than coffee. Mornings are the devil. One of these days I'll manage to be up and out shooting the fog before sunrise but that day was not Monday. Anybody got a favorite fog photography subject?

Excellent way to show so much with the low visibility of the fog, excellent photos!
Thank you! I love shooting in fog but it's always a bit tricky.
The Nikon and fog combo makes these look so atmospheric.
