Shooting The Show
Is there anything better than kicking back and enjoying some good live music?
Maybe taking photos of it. . . Got to do a little too much of that the other weekend when Highly Likely was playing down on Loving Farm.
Half the stage was backlit by the blazing sun, the other half was in the dim half light that tobacco barns are so good for. Made getting the whole band in the frame and exposed correctly a fun game.
Got bored of playing it after a while and just went for more close up shots.
Seemed better suited to the black & white treatment. The band was out of the Cincinnati area but they reminded me of the Louisville band I used to go see every Sunday evening. Less Grateful Dead covers though.
Was pretty rocking, or whatever you call it when they're burning up the banjo.
Alright, sing out if you've caught some good ol' live music recently.
The fun that comes from listening to live music is not the same as listening to recorded music. We see that the musicians there work very hard so that people like their music.
The sun in front of us is a great challenge. I always like to test myself... hahaha... we can feel the good atmosphere of the band in the photos.
I just saw a flyer that a local musician will soon be performing at the library where I used to work. I'll probably attend that.
