DC on B&W

Recent work trip shooting some photos in Washington DC gave me a chance to shoot a bit of film, so broke out a roll of Tri-X 400 in the point & shoot film camera and toured some sights.

Just left a camera store in DC to pick up a paper roll backdrop and saw this gem. Couldn't help but stop and catch a photo of it!

The White House as close as you can really get now from the street. As you might know, with all the construction and non-sense going on there, they've put up restrictive fencing such that this photo was shot through the crack in the fence.

There is obviously so much more you could see in DC, but alas, this was a work trip for Ross Dress stores/National Boys & Girls Club of America so..fly in, shoot photos, fly out. Good project. Next year is on the west coast.

I remember going to DC when I was a kid and it was so much walking! I don't think I would mind it so much today, but as a little kid it was horrible! I remember we saw some really cool stuff though. That liberty lounging on the lawn is awesome!

That day we did 8 miles, haha so there is definitely some walking. I think a big part of that is how terrible the parking is in DC and the fact that it's all downtown in the city. Cool place to visit but I wouldn't want to live there.

I remember we took the subway into town from somewhere on the outskirts. We were camping at some campground in Virginia I think.

Never been to DC really. Closest is flew into Reagan International for a trip to Quantico. Would love to see the monuments up close and all the historic sites. However, from what I have heard, and seen, the traffic in DC is a mess. I want nothing to do with it.

That was my first time there, and the monuments and historic sites were really cool. That traffic is for sure a nightmare. I can't imagine someone who lives there dealing with that each day.
