Monomand Challenge || The Cursed Tree (Eng/Esp)
This is my entry for the #monomad challenge.
Today, I went back to the house where poetry is made. I had taken a photo of this tree from afar. However, this it has always been a vexing element of the house.
If you don't know José Antonio Ramos Sucre, I'll give you an crash course. He's our very own cursed poet. These kind of poetry-makers always meet their end in bad ways. In the particular case of Ramos Sucre, he committed suicide after being afflicted by insomnia for s very long time of his life. His poetry is filled some a beautiful sadness that has made it timeless.
Also, there's the rumor that he hanged himself from this tree. That isn't even remotely close to his fate. He did his biding while in Switzerland. But people has always loved to tell storied. It is entertaining, but usually a bunch of lies.
The tree in essence is of the family Spondias purpurea. It gives a small fruit with a strong perfume. At the moment, it doesn't have any on its branches, but is a fine element of such an old house. It most be as old as the place. And that would put it at around 300+ years old.

Hoy, volví a la casa donde nace la poesía. Ya había tomando una foto de este árbol desde lejos. Sin embargo, es uno de esos elementos extraños en la casa.
Para los que no conocen a José Antonio Ramos Sucre, dejen que les dé un curso rápido. Es nuestro poeta maldito. Esto hace alusión a aquellos poetas que tuvieron finales trágicos. Ramos Sucre se suicidó. Esto lo hizo luego de sufrir de insomnio por muchos años de su vida. Su poesía está cargada con una tristeza profunda y una belleza que la hacen atemporal.
También existe el rumor de que se colgó de ese árbol que vieron al principio. Esto no tiene ni pies ni cabeza porque Ramos Sucre murió en Suiza. Pero la gente inventa cada cosa para entretenerse.
Este árbol es lo que se cononoce como jobito margariteño (de la familia Spondias purpurea). Por los momentos no tiene frutos en sus ramas. Pero he oído que son rojos y muy perfumados. Además, estoy seguro que es tan viejo como la casa. Así que debe tener más de 300 años de antigüedad.

Me gustaron las fotos, siento que atraparon un poco de la magia que ronda por los rincones de la casa.

Ay hombrecito, tú no te puedes quedar tranquilo un día ¿verdad?. Ya sabes que me encantan tus fotos, aunque normalmente las prefiero a color estas en blanco y negro tienen definitivamente su encanto.
Pero creo que lo que más me ha gustado es la historia del árbol, aunque la gente la haya inventado tiene su lado turbio y eso siempre me llama la atención 😅
