A walk through the fields of Terni and the outskirts of the city | MONOMAD Challenge

Hello dear friends of Hive and Black and White community! This time I will participate in the #monomad challenge of the day with some images of the fields of Terni and some peculiarities that I found walking around the outskirts of the urban core.

It turns out that Terni is a village (or a very small town) that is located in the region of Umbria, as I have commented on another occasion, and can be reached in a couple of hours from Rome.

Un paseo por los campos de Terni y las afueras de la ciudad | MONOMAD Challenge

Hola queridos amigos de Hive y de Black and White community! En esta ocasión participaré en el #monomad challenge del día con unas imágenes de los campos de Terni y algunas peculiaridades que encontré caminando por las afueras del núcleo urbano.

Resulta que Terni es un pueblo (o una ciudad muy pequeña) que se encuentra en la región de Umbría, como he comentado en otra oportunidad, y a la que se puede llegar en un par de horas desde Roma.

Since my family is originally from there, I spent a few weeks in Terni on my last trip, and stayed outside the historic center, in a housing development that is growing towards the mountain area.

I was thirsty for sun in those days, because I had spent almost 2 months in Germany, during December and January, so I had not had the chance to enjoy many sunny days.

This invited me to take long walks in Terni, to meet again the days a little bit warmer and the pleasure of feeling the sunlight on my face.

Como mi familia es oriunda de allí, pasé unas semanas en Terni en mi último viaje, y me alojé fuera del centro histórico, en una urbanización que está creciendo hacia la zona de la montaña.

Estaba sedienta de sol en aquellos días, porque había pasado casi 2 meses en Alemania, durante diciembre y enero, por lo que no había tenido la posibilidad de disfrutar de muchos días soleados.

Esto me invitaba a dar largos paseos por Terni, para reencontrarme con los días un poquito más cálidos y con el placer de sentir la luz solar en el rostro.

On these walks, which I used to do in the countryside area, I discovered how so many corners of Terni are dedicated to viticulture. This can be seen in the vineyards, neatly arranged in different terrains.

The mountains in the distance and the agricultural landscape, reminded me a lot of Mendoza that time, as this is the economic activity par excellence of the Argentine province, although of course the landscape is different in the sense that Mendoza is arid and Terni is much more humid.

En estos paseos, que solía hacer en la zona de los campos, descubrí cómo tantos rincones de Terni se dedican a la vitivinicultura. Esto se puede ver en los viñedos, prolijamente dispuestos en diferentes terrenos.

Las montañas a lo lejos y el paisaje agrícola, me hicieron acordar mucho a Mendoza aquella vez, ya que esta es la actividad económica por excelencia de la provincia argentina, aunque claro que el paisaje es diferente en el sentido que Mendoza es árido y Terni es bastante más húmedo.

Some areas of the streets of Terni also caught my attention. The images you see in this post correspond to the urbanizations that are away from the urban center and are about 20 minutes walk along the road.

The tunnels that were under bridges for pedestrian use, the narrow streets that invited to stroll, called my attention a lot, because it seemed that somehow one was moving to another place.

Algunos espacios de las calles de Terni también me llamaron la atención. Las imágenes que ven en este post corresponden a las urbanizaciones que se alejan del centro urbano y que se encuentran a unos 20 minutos caminando por la ruta.

Los túneles que se encontraban debajo de puentes para el uso peatonal, las calles estrechas que invitaban a pasear, llamaban mucho mi atención, pues parecía que de alguna manera uno se estaba trasladando a otro lugar.

Appreciating these images in black and white just gives me that feeling of time travel, it is as if the colors had suddenly frozen in that time when nature in photos was thrown to the fate of the imagination for not being able to appreciate the vibrant colors in the image.

At the same time, although the scenes are in monochrome, Terni makes clear his brilliance in the spirit of the images, as the components of the landscape are indisputable, and the compositions result in a scenario that invites you to enter into it.

El apreciar estas imágenes en blanco y negro justamente me genera esa sensación de viaje en el tiempo, es como si los colores de pronto se hubiesen congelado en aquella época en que la naturaleza en fotos se lanzaba a la suerte de la imaginación por no poder apreciar los colores vibrantes en la imagen.

Al mismo tiempo, aunque las escenas estén en monocromático, Terni deja en claro su brillo en el espíritu de las imágenes, ya que los componentes del paisaje son indiscutibles, y las composiciones resultan en un escenario que invita a adentrarse en él.
