Breathless

avatar

Two weekends ago I had a photo shoot scheduled, but that deal ended up delaying till the moment when it should happen the least. Week and a half I am struggling to take a proper deep breath as apparently some virus grabbed my lungs and won't let go, love on the first sight.

Unfortunately, the love is not reciprocated from my side, as my stumbling block was this cityscape sight from above. I couldn't drop the deal, well I could but I didn't want to as this location was one of the last built skyscrapers in the city and the name says it all.

SKYLINE

[this is Genex, brutalist gem, also known as the western gate]

I didn't take a single photo of the Skyline, because the architecture that is currently represented in our area really doesn't impress me, I appreciate minimalism, but when it collides with the rest of the impressive facades from the seventies - it just doesn't belong.

However, don't be fooled by the external minimalism, because to enter this building you need to pass all possible controls, so to speak, if you are not necessarily announced, so that a pass will be prepared for you and wait you at the reception (almost like arriving in Hawaii and getting Lei).

I was greeted by a misunderstanding at the reception because someone from the team forgot about me, and the only entrance to the exciting 31st floor could be found via the freight elevator.

Partly deaf, coordination not at it best thanks to the reduced oxygen flow to my brain, not the very best friend with heights, the higher we were the more uncomfortable I got.

From -2 to 31 took us few seconds, door opened and in front of me where the whole city framed in a semi-circular glass wall.
Scene left me breathless, although I tried to keep my composure and not make a happy silently screaming noise.

It was a bit scary to approach to windows, kind of not natural to be this much high, kept myself few steps away first half hour - until I 'felt' safe and knocked off the feet.

The rather dirty windows gave me trouble, and the very fact that the windows could only be opened literally a little bit. Standing there while my eyes are running all over, recognizing buildings, streets, tracking rushing cars crossing the bridge.

Everything seemed so synchronized from above, traffic noise barely reach this high, sounds almost muffled. Peering through the open window below, I could occasionally feel that well-known 'pit' in my stomach when I get scarred from something (often appears if I drive trough steep cliffs), the light over the city changes.

I was able to enjoy this (possibly) unrepeatable view for almost more than three hours, I am not sure if I will have the opportunity to find myself here again, although I would very much like it to happen when I am fully awake, with my senses working. at full capacity, feeling less dizzy and shaky.

@monochromes, this is my entry for the #monomad challenge, thank you all for your time and interest in what I do

The city indeed seems organized and beautiful from this point, thank you for bringing it to us and leaving us breathless too 🤓 Dirty windows - in Krakow, I met a Hiver who could clean these windows for you but I think they are still enjoying some sunny days at the other side of the ocean.

Haha, did you notice it? 😂

Oh my, I think I saw few ropes and someone closed the window when I was there, couldn't watch him sliding down so I run away!

Thie guy likes adrenaline apparently a lot, I've got goosebumps just scrolling down his photos. 😳

View is gorgeous, but earthquakes aren't 😂

The images looks exceptionally beautiful, although I'm a kind of person scared of heights. I cant stand looking downwards from 31st floor. Thanks for sharing.

Have you recovered from your lack of breath? What a beauty those views are... this moment of happiness must have helped in some way with your recovery. I can imagine it.

I was a bit disappointed as I couldn't enjoy it fully as I probably would in normal conditions, it added another experience that will be remember by many things (especially finding way out trough 3 underground garage floors.
🤣

Currently me and phlegm are in the separation stage, coughing kicking it out, toxic relationship :D
