Wat Paunjakananusorn, Mae Ai District, Chiang Mai, Thailand.
Hello everyone. How are you today? I hope all is well with you and your family. Mae Ai District, Chiang Mai Province is a quiet and beautiful rural district. Especially the nature and the temple here. This post I want to share and take friends to see a temple in this district. This temple is called Wat Paunjakananusorn. Before taking everyone to see the atmosphere in this temple. I would like to share some brief information about the temple.
Wat Paunjakananusorn is a common temple built in AD 1958 or 66 years ago. Local people and monks helped build the temple. And later in AD 1987 or 37 years ago, the temple received royal granting of the land to a particular temple by announcing in royal decree.
Wat Paunjakananusorn sign.
This trip, my wife and I visited this temple before the flooding in Mae Ai District. Wat Paunjakananusorn is on the roadside (Highway 107). We'll see the temple's entrance arch first.
Then we entered the alley about 100 meters to the temple. In front of the temple there are tall and large trees, Look outstanding.
At the entrance to the temple there are two white serpent statues. Both serpent statues have long tails and are large in size. And was just completed about 5-6 months ago. The statues looked new and beautiful.
When we entered the temple. We see a buddha image hall (viharn) first. This buddha image hall (viharn) looks new and beautiful as well. And the buddha image hall (viharn) is a white buddha image hall (viharn) decorated with gold color stucco patterns on the front, doors and windows. The front area is also decorated with oil paintings about buddhism too. Additionally, the entrance to the buddha image hall (viharn) is a staircase with two serpent statues.
Behind the buddha image hall (viharn) is a tall and large pagoda. This pagoda looks ancient, even though it was only built less than 100 years ago. And I think the shape of this pagoda is unique and different from the pagodas of other temples that my wife and I have visited.
The entrance staircase to the pagoda also have 2 serpent statues. But they are 2 serpent statues with different and unique styles. Near the serpent statues are two lion statues. And there are gold color buddha images on the foundation of the pagoda.
Beside the pagoda is a small pavilion. In this small pavilion there is a buddha image. This buddha image is called Luang Por Tanjai. And there are 2 giant statues area the pavilion too.
The temple also has a school for monks, a pavilion for religious ceremonies, a bell tower and a section containing the monks' living quarters.
Finally before my wife and I go home, I drove around to see the natural atmosphere on the rural road in Mae Ai District. Which is the farms with mountains and a river.
These are the stories and photos I want to share for this post. Invite everyone to see and enjoy my stories and photos. Please forgive any errors/mistakes. Have a great day. See you next time. Thank you for your support and visiting my post. Bye 🤗

I love the giant dragons that are featured at many different temples all around Thailand. The most impressive ones I have seen were at Doi Suthep I think it was called? The main mountain one in Chiang Mai anyway, the huge staircase are two single unit dragons that just keep going and going and going.
