πββοΈ Swimming In The Gulf Of Mexico πͺΈ Boca Grande Beach ποΈ

I wasn't going to leave Florida without swimming in the Gulf of Mexico, so my mom took me swimming during the last days of my stay there.
ποΈ White Sand π Clear Water

Β Β Β After previous trips to Gasparilla Island, and specifically Boca Grande Beach on the island, I wanted to return for a swim because the weather was so nice and the water so alluring. Even though this was a planned trip, I still forgot my swimwear somehow.
Β Β Β If it was Cambodia I would've just gone swimming in my jeans like the locals, but here in Florida that would be more weird than just swimming in my undies.

Β Β Β It's already strange enough being a ginger at the beach, we redheads fear beachgoers will shout things like "You don't belong here," "He'll roast alive," or "I can't look directly at him because it burns my eyes!" Of course I'm kidding, I'm fine under a bare sun for several hours, but a full day will turn me red like an apple.
Into The Gulf Of Mexico πββοΈ

Β Β Β Although I had forgotten my swimwear, I hadn't forgotten my swim cap, so with my rubber dome on I headed into the waters off of Boca Grande Beach. I immediately noticed how much more buoyant (almost wrote floaty) I was in the salty water than in the oxygenated river rapids behind our house (here) in Cambodia.

Β Β Β We weren't the only ones with an idea to visit the beach on this day as can be seen in the photos. As far as I could see in both directions there were people dotting the shore, and I totally understand why, the saltwater breeze and sun and are a therapy of sorts.
Mission Complete β

Β Β Β After treading water for a half hour or so, it was time to call it quits. I didn't come with an idea to spend a day at the beach, that's not so fun for me anymore. But a quick trip to the beach with a purpose, that's more my style, so this trip was a perfect daytime escape.

Β Β Β Upon leaving the beach I took a picture of some signage for you all. The rules would appear that nobody is allowed on the beach after dark, and no fires, camping, or booze, all the things that would make a beach even more fun, but I totally understand the need for rules like this given the high daily numbers of beachgoers.

Yes, I agree with you too. Salt water rich air and sun is a very effective therapy for the body. But I also noticed the presence of very few people. The number of people and presence we have here will make your head spin, ha ha ha.
Yes, haha, I think your country is one of the most crowded places in the world, especially Dhaka. But I think Cox's Bazaar is the longest beach in the world, is that right? From what I've seen it looks very empty.
Sir you went back home? Home sweet home sir. I think the sky looks really amazing whenever you see it yourself there. Is not really crowded too. Enjoy your day sir.
Yes, one month total in the USA, and three weeks of it in my old hometown. The weather is very mild in Florida, and the water temperature perfect for swimming. It is very nice there, but too expensive to live for me.
Nice weather indeed. Home sweet home. No matter what is still worth for a short visit sir. Send my regards to your family too sir. ππ
You enjoyed the beach very well my friend. And indeed this beach of Mexico is very beautiful and amazing and most importantly it is also very clean.
It was very beautiful, such clean and warm water. It was in the USA, Florida, but the water is called the Gulf of Mexico because on the western side of it is Mexico.
How long are you back for? If I visit the states anytime I might head straight to FL to visit grandma
I am already back in Cambodia now, but in total I was there for a month. Florida isn't as sad and depressing as I remember it being when I was a kid, guess cause now I'm old enough to fit barely fit into the youngest rung of the social ladder there π€£.
Yay! π€

I am more of a diver. Any given time when I go for a swim, I'll just go straight to the bottom. If I ever resurface or found, it will be a day or two the least π€£
That trunk not sexy enough. Please buy 1 size smaller π€£π€£π€£ or you might as well go with your skinny jeans
Haha, well luckily here you would do well. The water is very shallow and the bottom is white sand, so you could just prance around jumping off the bottom like a fierce hippo π. That was actually one of my favorite pool games as a kid, to go to the bottom and push off for a hippo launch attack.
Luckily it wasn't a Miami beach or I would've been jeered away from the beach for wearing boxers π©²π.
