👨💻 I Got A New Feline Friend 🐱 At Least For An Afternoon 🤷♂️
While doing some curation work today I was joined by a new feline friend from the village who apparently chose me as friend for the day.
A Furry Surprise 😻
I hadn't planned on falling asleep in my chair while doing curation work this afternoon, but after I put a leg on the desk it was written in stone. Within a few minutes of my legs going on the desk I was snoozing without a care in the world.
I assume I was about 15 minutes into my unplanned daynap when I felt a small hot furry friend jump onto my lap. I recognized at our neighbor's kitten, the neighbor whom we've had a falling out with in the past. The little kitty cuddled with me about 5 minutes in my chair, then fell asleep in my lap, so I joined little kitty and extended my nap to a full hour.
Make Yourself At Home 👐
Even though we are a vegan home and have little to offer kitty in the way of something to eat, this little furball made herself at home and stayed with us for half a day.
To my surprise little kitty is much nice than the people she lives with, and maybe that's why she came to befriend us today. Usually any animal that enters our home gets the boot regardless of how friendly it is, mostly because we do a lot of things on the floor such as eat and study. Keeping a clean floor is very important in a house like ours, and a floor full of fur isn't ideal.
Cuteness Overload 😍
Kitty went to pay Monkey-B a visit while she was doing her homework, a very welcome and cute distraction as you can see.
Our visitor was a pleasant distraction from what is normally a repetitive day, and I do hope we showed her enough love that she'll return for cuddles despite us having nothing to eat for her.
Back To Business As Usual 🧺
Kitty eventually decided to leave and let us finish our daily chores like hanging the laundry, making lunch, and other things.
The day continued on without our furry friend, and we ate our usual delicious meals, I told my share of dad jokes, and the kids tried not to be bored by my presence.
Someday they'll realize they have a cool dad, but I hope that day comes sooner than later. Until then I am just a dork in the eyes of my daughters, but there's a kitty in the village that thinks I'm pretty cool 😉.

Awww, that cat is so cute. I thought that was your cat until I learned that was your neighbor. That's so kind of you to let it stay inside your place. It reminded me of our cat back home in the Philippines.

Very similar faces indeed, I can see why kitty reminded you of the one back home. It looks very majestic atop the plastic basket. Haha, well, if I'm not a cool dad, perhaps I can be a cool cat dad.

The kitty was attracted to the plant eaters. You're not predators.
I don't remember the joke, but the face shows it probably wasn't good humor. Kitty apparently turned down fish today, but is quite happy with bread and potato chips. If she can learn to eat beans and tofu for protein, she might be able to live here with us and hunt a creature here and there if she wants to supplement her diet.

I agree, and every now and then they accidentally crack a smile and let me know it. Kitty thinks I'm cool, so I'll settle for that, and we've named her "Chairwoman Meow," a play on Mao Tse-Tung 😅.
that's a cool name! I odn't know about mau-Tse-Tung in your place but I once heard a funny song about a house fly landing on Mao_tse-Tung's nose.

Wow, you are a serious cat mama. I don't know if this one belongs to us or not, but she's abandoned her house for 4 days already. I think she may be here to stay, but I'm okay with that.
Well for me, I think it is good on that cat to stay in your house. She may be more comfortable. Yes, I am a cat mama and I really love adopting cats. ☺️☺️
While a kitty would be immediately chased away by Nadi, I don't mind them stopping by in the past. Cats are much easier pets to have than dogs in my opinion.
You mentioned that you think the cat is friendlier than its owners but man, I think that is probably true with most animals. Nadi is definitely more friendly than I am!
Nadi, a kitty chaser, so shocking. Well, Nadi is going to have get a little sweeter so that her dog dad has a buffer zone to improve his kindness 😉.
I would be very afraid for Nadi's well-being if she were ever to actually catch a cat. I think the only reason why she is so bold is because she has never actually caught up to one. I don't think she is aware that they have razor claws and very fast reflexes.
Haha, poor Nadi, she'd probably get mauled beyond recognition before she even understood what was going on 😉.

She's certainly got personality, and now that she's already grown on us, I hope she's here to stay.
