Home - The Most Precious Place in The World
Hello everyone, welcome back to my post. Today I want to share more about my hometown in the North of Viet Nam. I spent my entire childhood in a peaceful, beautiful village before moving to a bigger city for college and traveling, working in different cities, countries. These days, I’m living far from home, and that’s probably why sometimes I feel homesick. To me, home has always been the most healing place on earth.
My house is surrounded by endless green rice fields and tall mountains. It’s part of a small commune of just around 14,600 people in 12.25 km², but everything feels so open and calm. It never feels crowded, only peaceful.
Most families here grow their own vegetables and fruits, and raise chicken, ducks, buffalo, cows, goats,... So the food is always fresh and flavorful because animals are grass or corn fed.
One of my favorite things to do back home is ride my bike around the neighborhood. The breeze, the smell of the fields, wild flowers, the sound of birds or cows. It’s truly peaceful.
If you see a big, handsome dog in my photos, that’s Đen, our smart, strong, and loyal guardian. He’s been with us for more than 10 years. He watches over the house, and when I go for a ride, he always follows to make sure I’m safe. He is not only the guard of the house but a close friend of ours.
We have a small garden close to the house to grow flowers and herbs.
The bigger garden outside to grow sugar cane and other vegetables. Every corner of the home carries a familiar memory.
I love to eat the fresh vegetables from our garden. Every season, there are different kinds of vegetables.
It’s been six months since I was last home. How long has it been for you?
Luckily, I will come back for Lunar New Year (Tết holiday) , and I can already smell the scent of Chưng cake and the sound of firecrackers 😀
No matter how far we go, home will always be in our heart!

Vietnam looks just the same with some parts of the Philippines. I love the lush greens. The dog looks adorable and the flowers have awesome colors.

I love seeing your photos. Vietnam is exactly looks similar to Philippines. And you're right, that home is the most healing place on earth. I know how it feels to live far away from home, far away from your family it's really hard specially if you are still adjusting to the new environment, to the new people around you . Salute to all hardworking overseas worker out there .

This is just haven! Your hometown is so beautiful. For me, It's incomparable with the noisy crowded busy city. Life is here!
yes, it's a sad part that we grow up and stay far away our home for working. I will try my best to visit my hometown, my family more often.
