Saying Goodbye to my Vanda and Welcoming a New Face in My Garden πΈ

"Every flower blooms in its own time." -Ken Petti
I am happy today to share with you all a new flower in my collection.
I donβt quite remember when this orchid arrived, but it is finally showing off its colors! π
Here's my new purple orchid π pretty, isn't it? π

This new variety looks a lot like my other orchids, but it has its own special style.
It looks so small and sweet. The flowers are a bit smaller than what I am used to.
The petals are shorter, giving it a very cute, compact look.
The edges of the petals are a soft, lovely purple. π
As you look toward the center, the color fades into a bright, clean white. It has a little accent of yellow in the middle.
It looks so fresh against the blue sky. π
It is always a treat to find a new friend blooming in the garden.
On the other side of the garden, my Vanda orchid is showing its very last flower. This plant has been a real star. π It started blooming way back in December.

It has stayed bright and beautiful for months, but now it is time for the Vanda to rest. I am sad to see the stunning orange flowers go, but I am thankful they stayed for so long. πΈ
Nature always has a cycle: as one flower fades, a new one arrives to take its place. π
Not just the Vanda, but my roses πΉ have stopped flowering for a week now and are focusing more on growing more leaves. Look at the young leaves slowly sprouting. Look so fresh and bright. The new leaves have a shade of red on their green leaves, but as they mature, the reddish part will fade, and only the edges will stay reddish. Such a cute transformation. π

Here are the rest of the beauties who are still growing in my garden. π
This one looks a lot like the new one, but notice that it has slimmer and longer petals and is curling towards the end. It has noticeable veins in the center.

This one has a darker color and curled-up petals. At the end of the stem, new buds are growing.

The next one has a bit wider and rounder petals. A bit bigger than the others but smaller than the Vandas.

If you can see, there are still new buds growing. That means more colors for my garden soon.
So excited to show you more, but that's all for today.
See you on my next garden update. π

I love the purple orchids! They're one we would never plant though as where we are they would require more care than we can give them. So I just have to enjoy other people's photos/gardens where they're present XD
Oh, hello @ryivhnn ! π
Itβs true, weβre lucky with the climate here in the Philippines. Itβs funny because my secret is actually very simple, just an old bamboo stand, some coconut husks, and daily water. No fancy fertilizers π and oh, some eggshells
Iβll keep posting more so you can enjoy the bloom from afar. Thanks for the lovely comment π€

My mum used to keep her orchids in coconut husks too, I always thought it was just for aesthetics and never realised there was something to it O_O
π Yes,, orchids shouldn't be planted in soil. Coconut husk can retain moisture well, that's why it's the best choice for hanging plants π
Today I learned :O
Wow I just simply enjoying this moment looking at the beautiful captured orchids...
It's always a happy feeling to welcome these kind of flowers in a garden..
Thank you π
I'm happy you are happy π
!LOL
