Totka is a Hindi, word, that means "trick". This might not be interest few of the readers, but here is a local trick to avoid evil eye from your garden. But the question is do you belive in evil eye?

Before, I proceed further here is the little update on the biggest bottle gourd of my village. Grown in my own backyard. It has been a centre of attraction of late for villagers. The little haze is growing rapidly with flowers and new buds still appearing.

Out of nowhere, one of the fruits have grown quite bigger. Big enough that it now weighs around 18Kg. It is the first fruit, so we keep them as it is on the plant, and in no time it grown quite bigger.

The size of the bottle gourd is now making waves in my village. People from far off are turning up to take a glimpse of it. And this has raised concern for us. It is related with the Evil Eye that may affect the big bottle gourd. As a precautionary method we have taken some old superstious way to protect it.

Indian are too superstitious with too many faith and belief. Many people always follows some astronomy, astrology or vastu tips to fair well or to get success in their life. These sometime led to follow some strict practices to keep themselves safe from evil eyes. It is believed that an evil eye can destroy a happy living.
If you belong to an Indian household or you have seen it in any Indian family, they used to put a black dot on the kids faces or forehead or behind the ears to ward of the evil eye. There are instances that people do not like not telling certain people about good things happening in their life because of the belief that their envy may end up hampering their growth and prosperity. In fact, people always feared of the evil eye.

Understanding the Evil Eye.

Every human being carry an aura around us. Aura is believed to be the human energy shield. Some people or objects have negative auras, while some has positive auras. We might have noticed that presence of certain people around us leaves us energized. Those are the people with Positive Aura. On the other hand people with Negative Aura saps out our energy. We lose our energy and feel drained around people with negative aura. This is termed as the effect of the "Evil Eye". To ward of the effect of an evil eye, many people practice different things. Putting a black dot, or wearing a black thread are some of the way to keep away the harm of the sinister glare.

Effects of Evil Eye

Falling prey of evil eye means a lot of negativity coming into our life. The shadow of such evil powers destroys life. Due to this the work done starts getting spoiled. The person's energy decreases. He starts feeling sick and tired. Apart from this, many unwanted incidents start happening to them. A person of any age can be a victim of evil eye or visual defect

Evil Eye on Garden.

The superstitious faith and the strong belief is such that, the people in India have started to implement them in their day to day to life. They apply the same logic on their garden too. When they do not find a good yield, or find the crops or vegetable getting regularly spoiled they started to believe it is the work of an evil eye. To ward of the effect of the negative energy, they started to practice certain things. Black dot or black thread does not going to work in case of the Garden, so they started to put some unwanted stuffs on it to keep the evil eyes away.

People in believe that tying an used broom, or an used footwear, and a piece of a throny plant are some of the ways to keep the sinister glare away. The above photographs is an example.

Do you believe in such superstition?

Peace!!

It's difficult question to answer.
The term evil eye suggests that its evil and evil and intensional, but I believe your explanation of the aura or energy. The thing is most people cannot control that aura or energy and hence affects the other.

So, evil eyes does exists and even though I still don't understand how it works and affects I try few of the remedies or countermeasures or totka.

But I do know that plants react to energy and if you talk to them and say beautiful things to them they will react very well.... I don't know if the shoe thing works....

It works like this: jealousy and envy are negative energies and like all energies, they are bound to go somewhere, that's why it is important to be positive and think good thoughts. My aura is blue and green.
