February Garden Journal - How and why our Garden became fairly Minimalistic...

(Edited)

Hello dear Hivers and Gardeners ! It's been a long time, at least for me, since I participated as much as I would have liked. I don't think a day has gone by that I haven't thought of sharing things here... But to my great regret, I couldn't do it because of the lack of things to really share !

Due to some disruptions in the association where I had found a place to garden, nobody has access to it anymore and so it is at home that I continue my very modest shoots...

My minimal garden is this one. The pot in which I used to grow edible purslane and which throughout the winter was colonized by a thousand and one shoots of other varieties, some with flowers and some without.

In the centre is my "oya", this ceramic which allowed me to irrigate over the long term...

Yes, another of my experiments has been to keep growing calendula, that flower dear to my heart, and I must say that they have held up very valiantly through the winter (which isn't quite over yet either) !

DSC_0198.JPG

But let's go inside... Here, it's mostly succulents, some philodendrons and other lianas... In any case resistant plants !

Lots of succulents too, like this little Crassulae cutting in the first picture. All these plants are from cuttings and not one of them was bought as is ! I am quite proud of this as I refuse to buy (when possible) some "Nature".

Let's finish with these two plants on the edge of our toilets, yes I'm really bringing you into our intimacy, but don't worry, it stops there ^^ !

As you can see, we don't have any big plans, but we do have some great news: **We have finally found a house in the countryside ! ** Things are on the way, but as you can imagine, updates will be regular ;-)

Thank you for your visit and take good care of yourselves,

<3

DSC_0188.JPG

Au centre se trouve mon "oya" cette céramique qui me permettait d'irriguer sur le long terme...

DSC_0191.JPG

<3

Indeed ! I have the same reaction every morning when I see it, I don’t really want to know the name, just appreciate its presence :)

Yeeah ! This is formidable 👍 ! The project is advancing hehe..

It's completely like that, a bit lost from human but still close to a small village and the forest couldn't be near :) For the night sky I don't know yet, but I will think about the first night there !

Many thanks dear @bigorna1, I wish you a good weekend and also I wanted to let you know that I really enjoyed you update about your olive oil ❤️ ! Didn't leave any sign, but this was a real pleasure !

I had to go back to review the image for the second time and yes, I did see two floors above the bathroom 😂

I found that very funny, I really like that you have many pots, I have some similar ones at home, although they are plastic, because they weigh less and don't stand up :D

Hahaha :D

Plastic is good also, but it don't breathe enough in my opinion... but less watering I guess 😉 !

Plants indoors! I also like this idea as it gives a calming feeling at home😁

Salut! J'adore votre beau jardin intérieur.

The terracotta pots have quite the aesthetic. They are also cool if you draw or paint a design on them, like simple geometric patterns!

I've started doing cuttings from some of my philodendrons to put in cute pots to sell. Even if I make only 5 or 10 dollars from them it's all pocket money! Especially if I can find the pots super cheap.

Un grand merci à toi @riverflows :D

It's true we could do that, but after I don't know how it evolves with watering (??)

Indeed, this is completely free money and it's funny you talked about that because with coming house in the countryside, I was thinking about launching a 'business' of trees... We'll see haha !

May you have a good weekend 😘

I planned on switching to sustainable living, and the first thing that I want to do is learn the art of planting. I like your mini garden. I hope I can start my planting journey soon.

I planned on switching to sustainable living

This is the smartest move now, but do be fooled by those technologist propaganda. Many of my friend are completely hyped by this, but in fact, working with Nature is almost totally free, except of time hehe :)

Thanks you for visiting 😉 !

I have purslane too and happy to read especially the first part (and other parts too 😁). And will you have a house in the countryside!? I enjoy reading your posts about urban Paris but countryside posts will be nice too. You certainly do a lot of DIY for the new house. I look forward to reading about it.

This truly the art of gardening. You found ways to manage your pants. Indoor plants really helps to calm the mood especially when you're in the middle of a city.
