The building monster begins to rise, even though nothing fits.
My Sister bought a building 'kit', that they told her she could build...liars all!
So, using the normal Sister tool, she called me; can you build this little outbuilding? When I visited, I found a 10 by 14 jig saw puzzle! A perfect mess, designed badly, and cut by someone who has little woodworking talent.
Here is one full day to sort and mark parts, and two half days with a hammer:
Nothing is square or plumb, because the parts don't fit well! The walls don't have a double top plate, so they bow out at each joint...design issue. I started to double them up, and realized that the siding would open up if I did!
We had the walls framed and up day one, and we added the roof trusses after we built them the second afternoon.
We began some sheathing to stabilize the rafters:
Hard to find extra time to work on a building I hadn't planned for; but Sisters can't handle these things!
I had a friend helping, but the next time he'll be e busy:
The walking sticks were thick on the plywood:
Had to knock off a lot of ants too, but they weren't worth a photo (and I got real busy removing them), some were the big black ants that are about 3/4" long!
I did have a little help:
This is one of five that 'helped' me; but we still got a lot done. They all rotated through, but Jonathan here stayed, and brought a lot of cold water out! It was hot, so the water was appreciated.
Timing is always the issue, so we'll see how much gets done; with one old fool working on it, LOL 😆😁
🤠😆💸👍😳🤕
Ahahah, a classic sibling move on your sister’s part!
Would it have been easier to do it all yourself from the start, rather than figure how to make the do-it-yourself-legos-for-adults kit stable? 😅
It would have been easier to start fresh. But being a good Sister, she bought it without consulting anyone!
👍😳🤕🤠💸🙏😳
I wants it, I buys it. Been there done that but usually I actually have to live with my own decision 😝😅
That's about right...but I have to take the hit, LOL!
Too much fun, but I will be happy when it's done.
🙏🤠🤕😳🌪️🌧️
I have a feeling she got that from Ikea or something. lol
No telling where that idea came from! No one will ever know...but I still need to finish it for her.
🤕😳😭🤬🤮
Well, I wish you the best of luck. I'm sure you'll work your magic on it.
Thanks, it has been a real pain; but I'm hoping to get a roof on it soon!
👍🤠😋💗💙🙏🌪️💸
