(Edited)

Good day , today we had a small but joyfull hive meeting in Breda , Holland .

Thank to the guys from @coldbeetrootsoup who organised this meeting
you can find them on : https://discord.gg/pubJAcj3hU

the atendees on the meeting on none specific order

@loonatic @minigunner @edb @minicooper or was it @cooperclub ? @artakush and me @stresskiller

I'll start with some old houses from the city center that i walked passed from the carpark garage to the meeting point to give you a small impression of this old Dutch city , more details abnout the city you can fine here : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Breda

I took the image because i liked th impressive door and matching windows.

On the corner of the street i noticed this house with multiple flags.

oposite the house the street was still empty not for long soon it will be crowded with shopping people,, this was around 11:00 am the shops opened up on this day on 12:00am .

Another impressive door

and another that looks used , probably renovated the building into appartments

getting closer to the big church one street filled with bars

And then you see this big tower 97 meters tall according to wiki pedia they started buillding this massive church in 1410 more details can be found
here : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grote_Kerk_(Breda)

We walked around the church and we saw it was open to the public for free, so you lucky bunch get a small free tour inside.

First thing i noticed besides the high cealing was this organ on the left .

looking upwards you see this , i was glad i brought a wide angle 12 mm lens .

and a 90 degrees turn shows you the width of the church .

Same orchan with more ceilling details

The window oposite the side entrance where we came in.
on the left wall you see a dark wooden sculpture , more details about that later on.

Another part of the church oposite the organ.

A closer look to the organ , pretty massive and loads of ornaments on it.

one of the old graves inside the church dated back to 20 januari 1675

and another one dating back to September 1603

then i spotted this below the organ on the left side no idea what it is or what they might have used it for.

so we walked back the way we came and we saw this hanging

luckely i made two images and converted this one to b/w maybe some peopple with biblical knowledge can tell what it says.

moving on oposite the writings on the wall there was a small side room , that apeared to be another grave

this is that grave , people are a lot simpeler these days burn it to ashes dump it in the see and move on.

it makes you wonder how much such artwork would have cost in those days.

it does look impressive but if we all would end up with a grave like that we would need more AI and 3d printers.

Imagine laying here all these years without televisions or internet it must be boring.

and then there was this trilogy oposite the grave .

When we moved on i spotted this door ... and it rememberd me of the Monthy python sketch Spanish Inquisition like if they could get throughtthat door at any time .

on the right was this grave ? looked a bit vandalized over the years

and arround the corner we spotted this wooden statue,

Time to get outside and find the Hive people still no one to see

so we walked onand spotted this old house on the corner next to the church.

we walked on grabt us some coffee , still some minutes before 12:00am
and then we received the news that they were gathering on the otherside of the church so we payed for the coffee and moved towards the group.

When i arrived they had only just received their first drinks

placing the Hive sign between two beer

people geared up with HIVE merchandise , it was nice to finally meet face to face , for me another small fictory overcoming my anxiety disorder.

until the next time ....

It's cool that most churches are open for visitors. I always visit churches where I can.

And visiting a meeting with people you haven't met in real life is surely a win if you have an anxiety disorder.
Facing your fears often seems to help, doesn't it?

two - three years ago i decided to take on the battle , i'm not going to say it is easy but i do see improvements evertyime after taking big challenges like this meeting . Now i will take the rest of the week off to get used to the fact of what i did , and move on from there , and i also need to recharge again , although the recharging goes a lot faster then last year.

Experiencing success moments like this is the key. I don't know what it must feel like, but I've seen what it does to have relatives. Good job and take your rest!

Hi Ed , that organ is massive indeed well you probably have plennty of thos too in the UK , itt's actually a big pipe bag ( trying to translate things for the Scotsman ) it also works with air and make s a lot of noise.

yeah that anxiety really is a Bitch , but we are taming it , facing it and dealing with it .

Thank you , we have more of that size of churches across the country , funny enough almost no one goes to church anymore these days but the buildings are still used for sight seeing and exhibitions .

A few Dutch churches also here in South Africa Mick, we were colonized by the Dutch East India Company all those years ago. But then the English came in and re-colonized us because of the gold here.
Anxiety can be a life long problem, as my wife also used to suffer from it, but after we were married 20 years ago, I gently helped her to overcome her fears, during our regular meetings with strangers at the charity. It was the right medicine, as now she can meet with anyone.
Well done to you for attending the meeting and I hope that you will attend many more.

Thank you Stephen , my anxiety started somewhere around 2008 after my burn-out , but that is the past i try to focus forward and days like yesterday are the victories i need to move forward.

thx for visiting .

Burnouts are terrible things Mick. We are still recovering after our second ones and that's why we moved down to the Cape. You definitely have to move forward, as I know that you can conquer it and that's why I decided to comment on your post. Restoration is never easy, but a positive mindframe can work wonders. We wish you all the best.

So fun man. I wish I could attend one of these in the future. It would be so fun to smoke some weed and then go explore and take photos.

it nice to meet other people with different intrest and still one thing in common Hive, each using it in his own way. Maybe you and Solo could set up a meeting in a weed friendly state .

There are meetups here in the US, but it is hard to get people from all the different states to attend. Especially when so many people will need to fly in and get hotels. It ends up costing way too much to make it worth it. That is why I keep telling people that a Hivefest in the US is not feasible. It would cost people way too much to attend.

so actualy you need a hive promotion team traveling around visiting state fairs , so that people can join localy.
That would be a lot of work, and still cost a lot .
