Rain Ends And Coffee Begins

DSC06213.JPG

“ Rain expected to end this evening”....

May isn’t exactly the rainy month over here. From what I recall, it’s when the sun shines the most and we’re all happily vacationing. But for the last couple of days, my phone has been buzzing with weather telling me it’s stormy, expect rain, cloudy skies and so on.

Feeling like a moment ago, I was happily greeting the turning season where it’s all sunny and happy, as if something blooms and things have a chance to grow once again.

In my tiny garden, the remaining of our desert rose happily blooms. We tend to mistake that as frangipani but they are actually succulent and best for people who are on and off in gardening like myself.

You know, one of these days I have to learn how to properly sculpt them as I am seeing beautiful shapes all around.

It’s not necessarily fun when it rains and in fact, before even going outside with my camera, I was reading a post by @namiks who writes after rain and that reminds me how fun rain photography shoots can be.

Actually, something was off with my setting today and I didn’t get the desired result that I wanted but since I was tagging along with my mom, it became such a fun ordeal.

It’s not rain without puddles and I took some pictures of it. Somehow there’s this spot where a light dimly illuminates the street. It creates such a vibe that you just want to sit, have some coffee and enjoy the sound of rain.

Living in a high density area can feel suffocating at times but I have to find happiness here. Just as my cousin wished me the other day that he hopes I’ll be happy wherever I’ll be.

It’s probably why I love nature themed posts around here and outside the chain. There's this jealousy of mine that I wished to live somewhere a lot closer in nature, somewhere quieter and noise free.

DSC06239.JPG

Though I am not sure if I can do that forever especially when the novelty has gone. But I have to do it, one of these days when the weather and time allows.

DSC06237.JPG

I need to stop thinking and start building. There are some places I wish to go, to stop by and live there for a moment. I can only hope it will be a welcoming place and if it’s not, I still have a house to return to. And if I like it enough, I’ll even think of moving there, another decade won’t feel like eternity I suppose as time flies.

Then, it’s time for coffee

After having some fun with my mom involved in this rainy ordeal, I decided it was time for coffee. As much as I probably shouldn’t, the weather was inviting me with a cup of warm coffee, luke chiang on the playlist and dim lights while I am compiling this monologue. So, that’s why, off I went to my mini coffee station.

I recently got another batch of coffee. This time, it’s Gayo, one of the best Indonesian coffee and something classic for any coffee lover in the country.

This coffee is a lot more expensive than the other arabica in my regular roastery. For 100g of this coffee, it was around $3 in which typically, others would cost just around 2.5. The price is justified as it is one of the best variants in the market.

And I have to say, this coffee is addictive. I can’t quite pinpoint why but it makes you want to brew more especially if you enjoy it with v60 like I always do.

After your first brew, Somehow you end up wanting more as the aftertaste of the coffee lingers and makes you crave for it. So, be careful with this one as you can end up drinking a gallon of this delicious coffee.

Even for me, while taking pictures of this cup, that was already my 3rd brew and today I had 4 strong coffee. Earlier, I even had an americano made with colombian beans. It was such a treat and quite a motivation to eventually finish my 3 days water fast.

So, have you had your coffee today? If not, it’s time to brew some more.

The rain goes next to a good coffee, it is a perfect combination and if adding some flowers of flowers and details like drops, they make it more great... Just as you did :)

Beautiful shots @macchiata thanks for sharing with us 🙂

Yep! I am currently trying to grow more flowers and I hope they can grow around where I am at. Honestly, maybe more flowers will help me around here as my neighborhood is pretty barren.

Somehow it has been a very rainy May in my area. The rainy season is supposed to begin next month...
All your rainy day photos are lovely. The photo of the umbrella on the roof is very pretty!

And your mother is wonderful to have fun with🥰

Right? it should not start this month because this is the month when we can have fun, out in the sun 🌞 actually the stuff on the roof is the mosque speaker. I live next to one and it's not noise free at all 😅. My house is also adjacent to the market so, it never sleeps and always buzzing. I so wish to live in quieter area or country, whichever comes first hehe.

Thanks for checking out 😊

In the genes of our past is that nostalgic memory for nature that the current way of living and the cement has made us forget or at least lose attention.

Very reassuring to read your post, for a moment I confused it with a poem, in my case my forte is not to be in nature, I like to admire it on tv in their stories similar to this one you write but I'm trying to change that.... just yesterday I gave a light hug to a tree by my house haha, they say it is good to release stress and very right your nephew, in the end the important thing is to be happy wherever you go or are.

I should have taken a picture haha I would look funny hugging the tree, Persephone came back with Hades, maybe that's why it's raining so much where you live.

And you can't miss the coffee from your posts haha have a nice day 🤗🤗

Hello, how accurately you wrote the title. It seems to have briefly described my day. May is usually warm here, it's the time when young people are already starting to wear shorts ) However, not this year, now it's rainy, windy and cold. And I love coffee, nature and flowers, if you have a free minute, come and look at the photos from my garden )

I always love to take photos after the rain. The raindrops on the petals is just so amazing to see, it's like they heal. It's a pretty sight and with this kind of color, it become more dramatic, I always adjust the brightness of my photo to make it look darker. Like I had to edit them all. Ehe. Anyways those are pretty shots. Flowers is really a good subject for photography. And the coffee, coffee's the best when it rains or after the rain. Ehe. I didn't drink coffee for breakfast, coz of my sore throat, but seeing This made me crave some.
