Hivefest From My Sony Lens & Misc
These are some miscellaneous photo collections from #hivefest on my end. I regretted not getting the battery from home because my camera is pretty old fashioned and I thought Malaysia would have the same type of battery I have. So, most of the time I can’t rely on my camera but when I did, I managed to capture snippets of #hivefest festivities.
This street signage captured my attention the most. I don’t know, to my eyes they look pretty aesthetic on their own. Oh and for a non-walker, I thought most places here are far but they’re not really? You can walk just fine along the street actually, especially if you love walking and don't mind the heat.
I've always been in awe of Malaysian architect. They have some taste in building their skyscrapers. While the road is a bit chaotic, but when you look at the buildings, they're just one of a kind. Even from the last time I was here, the buildings around really captivated me.
Chainculture was its own thing and festivities. That was the second day and I finally got a breather. So, I was able to take some pictures around the area.
And how I wished to meet @uquidshop team cause their service is actually pretty intriguing! So, @aswita, I think one of these days I'll have to talk about how to use their service or you can just check them out over shop.uquid.com. Browse around and it's magical place to be haha.
Not sure why I wasn't so interested with the food that day but I haven't tried most of the thing. This kopitiam bar seemed pretty good but obviously, I didn't try it.
I love pastries but at the time, I was like let's skip these baked goods 😂
The craze of collectopia, I got myself one card and that seemed to be valued over $9 or something. That was fun to be a part of it. I remember that day I haven't had a proper coffee and I wasn't so much in a great mood. I had the coffee but.. it was just "coffee" 😂 much like the malaysian type of battery, that energy from it last me like 10 minutes?
I went halfway during the Batu Cave excursion, I am kinda spooked with the monkeys since my camera is pretty snatchable haha. So, I went halfway & that was it.
This is the backbone of Petaling street. The delivery and all the cooking and stuff happened. Somehow I prefer exploring this part more than the front one.
You get to see some interesting stuff and if you're into street photography, this is the mecca of it.
There are some interesting murals around the area too such as this one. It's pretty iconic alleyway and must-visit.
Then it was time to fly back home, that sad moment 🙃
But look, at least one more coffee around the area before I was taking the train to the airport. Now that I think about this moment, I wanted it to stretch a little more haha. This place is pretty good and loved the americano & time I spent there.

Funnily enough even after reaching the airport, I was on my 2nd cup. I got starbucks just as ritual. It's like a mark that I loved the trip and now back to reality kind of vibe. It's habitual whenever I fly out of a place.
And I happened to meet an aspiring film director who sat next to me on the flight. We exchanged cards (more like I gave him the scannable hive card) and he gave me his sticker from his short film that was aired in a film festival in Kuala Lumpur.
Now, I learned that my scannable cards should actually include my profile or something so it's easier for people if they want to sign up rather than just reading what hive.io is. That's another idea to entertain and fix my card.

Now,this is a closure & let's hope in November, I get to see more interesting stuff from my lens as I am scheduled to visit Papua for work. This is my debut working with my family again and pretty excited to learn the rope and has the ability to travel around Indonesia & beyond.

Can you tell me more about your scannable card? This is with a QR code, right? I think this maybe the idea I'm pursuing with my designer.
You can find some of my samples from this

or this canva of mine https://www.canva.com/design/DAGcE4T5x20/P4fx3p1Pkv7OZJwh4pV59A/edit
And this is how the card looks like
Ah fabulous, thank you 😍
You're so welcome 😊 calendar honestly is a great idea too. It's the end of the year and that will be usable for 2026. I'll post my collection from the event soon, so if anyone needs it, I can just point that out to them in one big collection posts.
I'm wondering whether to have Hive on the branding at all? I'm thinking about attracting consumers, and waiting on the easy-access accounts that I believe are in process. I'm also thinking about checking @distriator.
Maybe just one logo and that's about it? from hivefest they have this brochure that includes one logo quietly in the background. I am waiting for the lite account before I am starting again talking about Hive. @distriator is a good idea too, that is something I am trying to explore as well and esp on its legality side. It could very well work over here, just need to find ways around it (for me) at least.
In the meantime, I have some ideas fixing my cards and also making my offline hub alive for people to learn about hive and off chain, not sure how this will go and fit my time but I am sure, I'll find a way.
Yeah, I was wondering about one tiny logo in a corner. It depends a bit on the colour scheme we choose (I think at least one of them will be quite grunge-y) and whether the red will work. Although a tiny glistening red Hive logo could work.
I don't think we have the same challenges here (UK) that you may have with @distriator, but I'm thinking about how I could make it work - you need an account first, really? 🤔
My plan is for the QR code to come to a landing page on each blog which will explain what the blog is about. I thought that would be the place to talk about Hive - saying why I'm using it.
Oo how did you get that card and kalendar. Hope thet reach Singapore and Dubai also 😊
That was from the event I organized early of this year!

Even with the camera battery struggles, you still managed to capture some really captivating moments from #HiveFest and around Malaysia. I love how you gave light to the small yet meaningful details like the street signs and murals. They really bring the place to life. Also that last part about meeting the aspiring film director was such a cool twist too. Wishing you more amazing adventures and photo stories on your upcoming trip to Papua!
Thanks! I had so many amazing encounter in this journey and forever thankful for that.
