My Mom was delighted with my previous pictures of her flowers in the garden (you can see them by clicking on THIS LINK to my previous post)... In fact, Mom literally “bombarded” her friends with those photos using Whatsapp and Telegram messaging 😂... And, as expected, she has been requesting me to send her more and more pictures of her plant flowers to see and share to her contacts. Fortunately for her, I also have a marked liking for photographs of flowers, plants and the like. So I took a bunch of photos that day and have plenty to spend long and enjoyable hours processing and editing photos with this theme, just as I did today to create this post and share with you on #Hive... So, please go ahead and enjoy more colors, shapes and textures from our gardens! 😉

Mi Madre quedó encantada con mis anteriores fotografías de sus flores en el jardín (pueden verlas haciendo click en ESTE ENLACE a mi post previo)... De hecho, Mamá literalmente "bombardeó" con esas fotos a sus amistades a través de su mensajería de Whatsapp y Telegram 😂... Y, como era de esperarse, ha estado solicitándome que le haga llegar más y más fotografías de las flores de sus plantas para verlas y compartirlas a sus contactos. Afortunadamente para ella, yo también tengo un marcado gusto por las fotografías de flores, plantas y afines. Así que ese día hice un montón de fotos y tengo de sobra para pasar largas y placenteras horas procesando y editando fotografías con esta temática, tal como lo hice hoy para crear esta publicación y compartir con ustedes en #Hive... ¡Así que, por favor pasen adelante y disfruten más colores, formas y texturas desde nuestros jardines! 😉

The land where our houses are located has belonged to my maternal family for several generations. In fact, I inherited my house from my maternal grandmother and some of its outbuildings were built by my grandparents and great-grandparents. This logically, makes our gardens and backyards have plants that have grown here for as long as we can remember. So it is common for my mother and I to refer to some plants as if they were part of the family heritage. Obviously, some species have disappeared over the years and also my Mother and I have brought in many new ones. But there is still a lot here inherited from the times of “my grandmother Olimpia” who was a sort of “plant fanatic” and was always maintaining her gardens until her last days of her life. So this plant thing is something quite traditional in my family people and my younger sisters particularly, have that same fondness for everything related to plants and gardens. Also my wife has joined the community of that sort of “gardening club” and has been one of the most active members for almost four decades now... 😀🌷👍

El terreno en donde están nuestras casas ha pertenecido a mi familia materna por varias generaciones. De hecho, mi casa la heredé de mi Abuela materna y algunas de sus dependencias fueron construidas por mis abuelos y bisabuelos. Esto lógicamente, hace que nuestros jardines y patios tengan plantas que han crecido aquí desde que tenemos memoria. Así que es común que mi madre y yo nos refiramos a algunas plantas como si fuesen parte del acervo familiar. Obviamente, algunas especies han desaparecido con el paso de los años y también mi Madre y yo hemos traído muchas nuevas. Pero aún hay mucho aquí heredado de los tiempos de "mi abuela Olimpia" quien era una especie de "fanática de las plantas" y estuvo siempre manteniendo sus jardines hasta sus últimos días de su vida. Así que esto de las plantas es algo bastante tradicional en la gente de mi familia y mis hermanas menores particularmente, tienen esa misma afición por todo lo relativo a plantas y jardines. También mi esposa ha venido a engrosar las filas de esa especie de "club de jardinería" y ya lleva casi cuatro décadas siendo uno de los miembros más activos... 😀🌷👍

I, for my part, feel at ease photographing small details in the plants in the garden and the backyards of our houses. In fact, this added to the availability of all that happens in the streets of my town and rural roads, add up to a set of “photographic goodness” for which I feel truly fortunate... Obviously, things change a bit here in the garden when it is dry season and some plants conclude their cycles and seeds have to be saved for the next rainy season. Here in our region, conditions are often extreme from one weather season to the next, so the dry months can be really tough and makes it impossible to grow some floral species. But even that “saving seeds for next year” is something that has become part of family tradition...

Yo, por mi parte, me siento a mis anchas fotografiando pequeños detalles en las plantas del jardín y los patios de nuestras casas. De hecho, esto sumado a la disponibilidad de todo eso que sucede en las calles de mi pueblo y caminos rurales, suman y constituyen un conjunto de "bondades fotográficas" por las cuales me siento verdaderamente afortunado... Obviamente, las cosas cambian un poco aquí en el jardín cuando es temporada seca y algunas plantas concluyen sus ciclos y hay que guardar semillas para la siguiente temporada de lluvias. Aquí en nuestra región, las condiciones suelen ser extremas entre una temporada climática y otra, así que los meses de sequía pueden ser realmente duros y hace imposible el cultivar algunas especies florales. Pero incluso eso "guardar semillas para el año entrante" es algo que se ha convertido en parte de las costumbres familiares...
