Hello all #Hive friends, in the past few days we had some clear mornings here, with deep blue skies dotted with some cottony white clouds. This type of weather doesn't happen very often during the rainy season, so I decided to take advantage of this and take a short walk away from town towards the hills to the north....

Este tipo de clima no suele ser muy frecuente durante la temporada de lluvias, así que decidí aprovechar esto y hacer una corta caminata alejándome del pueblo hacia las colinas al norte...

As I said before, we are in the rainy season, so the foliage is green and abundant, the humidity is always high and you can experience temperatures over 33°C after 10:00 AM (approximate starting time of this hike). .

Como dije antes, estamos en temporada de lluvias, entonces es follaje es verde y abundante, la humedad es siempre alta y se pueden experimentas temperaturas mayores a los 33°C después de las 10:00 AM (hora aproximada del inicio de esta caminata).

Once you leave the town's streets behind, there is a beautiful forest with centennial trees. The temperature there is pleasant enough to feel a great desire to stay under the shade and experience the pleasant sensation of being there under the protection of these old trees. But, the idea of this day is to exercise a little and take some pictures from the hills, so I forced myself to continue my walk...

Una vez dejar atrás las calles del pueblo, hay un hermoso bosque con árboles centenario. La temperatura allí es tan agradable como para sentir deseos enormes de permanecer bajo la sombre y experimentar la sensación agradable que causa el estar allí bajo la protección de estos árboles ancianos. Pero, la idea de este día es ejercitarme un poco y hacer algunas fotografías desde las colinas, así que me obligué a continuar mi caminata...

The ascent path is very steep, so this allows you to reach altitudes much higher than the valley even if the sections are relatively short, so it is feasible to start enjoying the scenery very few minutes after starting to climb... It is also very easy to start feeling very hot and extremely tired! ;)

El camino de ascenso es muy empinado, entonces esto permite que alcanzar cotas de altitud muy superiores al valle aun siendo relativamente cortos los tramos recorridos, así que es factible comenzar a disfrutar del paisaje muy pocos minutos después de comenzar a escalar... ¡También es muy fácil comenzar a sentir mucho calor y un extrema sensación de cansancio! ;)

From here, the views of the mountain peaks to the west of the town are sublime. Also, being accompanied by the green foliage and the blue sky with some white clouds, very attractive photographs can be taken. Although I have to admit that 10:30 AM may not be the best time to do it due to the strong contrast generated by the sun high above the horizon. Maybe a couple of hours earlier the light would have been a little more favorable, but I still liked the result.

Desde aquí, las vistas hacia las cimas de las montañas al oeste del pueblo son sublimes. Además, estando acompañadas del verde follaje y el azul del cielo con algunas nubles blancas, se pueden lograr fotografías muy atractivas. Aunque tengo que admitir que las 10:30 AM quizás no sea la mejor hora para hacerlo debido al fuerte contraste generado por el sol bastante alto sobre el horizonte. Quizás un par de horas antes la luz hubiese estado un poco más favorable, pero aún así me gustó el resultado.

The natural environment added to the view of the town from a higher elevation of about 200 meters, gives the possibility to make interesting and eloquent photos. Definitely, the sky played an important role in these images, it seems to me that the set of elements in them made me experience a type of photography to which I am not very adept...I always prefer foggy streets, cloudy skies, reddish sunsets or sunrises and dim lights, but this going out to take pictures in hours close to noon is something I rarely do.

El entorno natural sumado a la visión del pueblo desde una cota superior en unos 200 metros, brinda la posibilidad de hacer fotos interesante y elocuentes. Definitivamente, el cielo jugó un papel importante en estas imágenes, me parece que el conjunto de elementos en ellas me hizo experimentar un tipo de fotografía al cual soy poco adepto...¡Siempre prefiero calles con nieblas, cielos con nubes, atardeceres o amaneceres rojizos y de luces tenues, pero esto de salir a hacer fotos en horas cercanas al mediodía es algo qué rara vez hago.

Some old ruins remind me that these lands were part of an old cocoa plantation back in the 1900s, which ceased to operate when the exploitation of this crop ceased to be profitable in our region.

Unas viejas ruinas me recuerdan que estos terrenos eran parte de una antigua hacienda de Cacao allá por los años de 1900, la cual dejó de funcionar cuando la explotación de ese cultivo dejó de ser rentable en nuestra región.

I encountered few wildlife during my hike. I guess the animals are much smarter than I am and are not willing to expose themselves to the extremely high heat and solar radiation. However, this beautiful hawk whose species I do not know hovered over my head long enough for me to capture this image.

Encontré poca fauna durante mi caminata. Supongo que los animales son mucho más inteligentes que yo y no están dispuestos a exponerse al calor y radiación solar extremadamente altos. Sin embargo, este hermoso halcón cuya especie desconozco estuvo revoloteando sobre mi cabeza el suficiente tiempo para que pudiese capturar esta imagen.

I had an 18-200m zoom lens on my camera, so I could use the maximum focal length to take a couple of interesting shots of the central part of the town and the plains extending south of it.

Llevé puesto en mi cámara un objetivo zoom 18-200m, así que puede utilizar la máxima distancia focal para hacer un par de fotos interesantes del casco central del pueblo y de las planicies que se extienden al sur de este.

My last photo before a quick descent was for this pair of fuzzy seeds, which flew up to that blade of grass and danced together until they were suspended there.... After this I returned home without taking pictures. I was very happy about my hike, but I was really tired, overheated and I hadn't even remembered to take water and a cap with me. So going back quickly was perhaps an "act of survival" done instinctively... ;)

Mi ultima foto antes de emprender un rápido descenso, fue para este par de semillas recubiertas de pelusas, las cuales llegaron hasta esa hoja de hierba volando y danzando juntas hasta quedar allí suspendidas... Luego de esto regresé a casa sin tomar fotos. Me sentí muy contento por mi caminata, pero estaba realmente cansado, acalorado y ni siquiera había recordado llevar agua y una gorra conmigo. Así que regresar rápidamente quizás fue un "acto de supervivencia" realizado de manera instintiva... ;)

ADDITIONAL TECHNICAL NOTE: Photographs captured with my Nikon D7000 DSLR camera in RAW format, then processed in Adobe Camera RAW for adjustments regarding light, sharpening, contrast and depth... Then those are exported to JGP format on which minor modifications such as straightening and adding watermarks were carried out using PhotoScape 3.6.3.

NOTA TÉCNICA ADICIONAL: Fotografías capturadas con mi cámara DSLR Nikon D7000 en formato RAW, procesadas posteriormente en Adobe Camera RAW para ajustes relativos a luz, afilado, contraste y profundidad... Luego fueron exportadas a formato JGP sobre el cual se llevaron a cabo modificaciones menores como enderezado y agregado de marcas de agua usando PhotoScape 3.6.3.
