Lately I try to avoid leaving photos that I like as much as possible without processing, editing and sharing... I am a kind of "caveman, spartan and crazy photographer" 😂 walking through the streets of my town carrying my old camera of more than 12 years old in my hand, then passing each photo captured in RAW to my PC (with a USB cable, which is also lagging behind) and processing photo by photo with Adobe Camera Raw, adjusting some things with Photoshop and some other editing software and then sharing my photos. And to top it off, I have the strange mania of, every three or four months, deleting everything I have on my hard drives, I don't save almost anything in the cloud and I just get distracted and forget about my past photos which only remain existing in #Hive or in my other social networks. So all this makes it important for me to process and edit the material that is to my liking and that I have at hand at a certain time. Because otherwise, everything can simply be erased by me any day and forgotten forever. In fact, I'm sure my relatives keep more of my photos in digital format (and even printed) than I do myself... And I do this because in reality, after some time has passed since I have captured them, I lose interest in my photos abruptly and irreversibly... But let's continue looking at photos, this is more fun for you surely... 😉

Últimamente procuro evitar al máximo el dejar fotografías que me gusten sin procesar, editar y compartir... Yo soy una especie de "fotógrafo cavernícola, espartano y con manías" 😂 andando por las calles de mi pueblo llevando en mi mano mi vieja cámara de más de 12 años de antigüedad, pasando luego cada foto capturada en RAW a mi PC (con un cable USB, lo cual ya también está quedando atrás) y procesando foto a foto con Adobe Camera Raw, ajustar algunas cosas con Photoshop y algún otro software de edición y luego compartir mis fotos. Y para colmo, tengo la extraña manía de,cada tres o cuatro meses, borrar todo lo que tengo en mis discos duros, no guardo casi nada en la nube y simplemente me desentiendo y me olvido de mis fotos pasadas las cuales solo quedan existiendo en #Hive o en mis otras redes sociales. Así que todo esto hace que para mi sea importante procesar y editar el material que sea de mi gusto y que tenga a mano en determinado momento. Porque de lo contrario, todo simplemente puede ser borrado por mi cualquier día y olvidado para siempre. De hecho, estoy seguro de que mis familiares guardan más de mis fotos en formato digital (e incluso impresas) que yo mismo... Y hago esto porque en realidad, después de pasado un tiempo de haberlas capturado, pierdo el interés en mis fotos de manera abrupta e irreversible... Pero mejor continuemos mirando fotos, esto es más divertido para ustedes seguramente... 😉

Some of the photographs I'm sharing here correspond to sequences of several photos taken along the same stretch of street, a single scene in particular, or even just expressly planning the photo to process it in color rather than monochrome, as I usually do. I'm referring to the fact that I often "float" around a scene, around a street, around something like a car, a cat, or even a weathered wall, and while I'm doing this, I take a variety of photos. Also, when I use a zoom lens, I like to frame my shots using different focal lengths. I have several lenses like this, ranging from my 18-55mm kit lens, a 55-200mm, an 18-200mm, and even a 55-300mm. Each one allows me to operate differently around a scene that can be packed with photos in a limited space. And when I'm carrying a prime lens, whether it's a 35mm, 50mm, or even a 100mm, I tend to instinctively zoom in and out of the scene. All of this happens quickly at times, or slowly as the situation demands.

Algunas de las fotografías que estoy compartiendo aquí, corresponden a secuencias de varias fotos hechas en un mismo tramo de calle, una misma escena en particular o incluso pensando expresamente la foto para procesarla en formato de color y no no monocromático como también acostumbro a hacer. Mer refiero entonces al hecho de que, muchas veces, yo "floto" al rededor de una escena, alrededor de una calle, alrededor de algo como un auto un gato, o incluso una pared atacada por la intemperie, y mientras hago esto voy disparando fotos diversas. Además, cuando uso un lente zoom, me gusta hacer encuadres valiéndome de diferentes distancias focales. Yo tengo varios lentes así, yendo desde mi lente del kit 18-55, un 55-200mm, un 18-200mm y hasta un 55-300mm. Cada un me permite comportarme de manera distinta alrededor de una escena que puede estar repleta de fotos en un espacio limitado. Y cuando llevo un lente fijo, ya sea de 35mm, 50mm o incluso 100mm, entonces suelo acercarme y alejarme de la escena de manera instintiva. Todo esto ocurre rápido a vece, o lentamente según lo requiera el caso.

Obviously, I am not a professional photographer and I can afford certain arbitrariness such as deleting all my photos several times a year. But I do that with a lot of things, not just the photos. I have a tendency to erase memories. I guess it's a very particular personal trait, because it goes to the extreme of not remembering where the hell my university degree is, not even having diplomas, also all the recognitions received throughout my 25-year professional career are missing, and so on with other things that could be considered of sentimental or experiential value. But back to photography: I started with this as a kind of "therapy" after being on a psychologist's couch too many times and this led me to understand myself as "a guy taking pictures" in the most downloaded way possible. So my way of interacting with photography, in itself also has a lot to do with that way in which I started this path within it...

Obviamente, yo no soy un fotógrafo profesional y puedo permitirme ciertas arbitrariedades como borrar todas mis fotos varias veces al año. Pero hago eso con muchas cosas, no solo con las fotos. Tengo cierta tendencia a borrar recuerdos. Supongo que es un rasgo personal muy particular, porque llega al extremo de no recordar en donde diablos está mi título universitario, no tener diplomas ni siquiera, también todos los reconocimientos recibidos a lo largo de mis 25 años de carrera profesional están desaparecidos y así por el estilo con otras cosas que podrían ser consideradas de valor sentimental o vivencial. Pero volviendo a la fotografía: comencé con esto como una especie de "terapia" después de estar demasiadas veces en el diván de un psicólogo y esto me llevó a entenderme a mi mismo como "un tipo haciendo fotos" de la manera más descargada posible. Así que mi forma de interactuar con la fotografía, en sí también tiene mucho que ver con esa manera en la que comencé este camino dentro de ella...

ADDITIONAL TECHNICAL NOTE: Photographs captured with my Nikon D7000 DSLR camera in RAW format, then processed in Adobe Camera RAW for adjustments regarding light, sharpening, contrast and depth... They were then exported to JGP format on which minor modifications such as straightening and adding watermarks were carried out using PhotoScape v3.7

NOTA TÉCNICA ADICIONAL: Fotografias capturadas con mi cámara DSLR Nikon D7000 en formato RAW, procesadas posteriormente en Adobe Camera RAW para ajustes relativos a luz, afilado, contraste y profundidad... Luego fueron exportadas a formato JGP sobre el cual se llevaron a cabo modificaciones menores como enderezado y agregado de marcas de agua usando PhotoScape v3.7
