This is something like: "Me, walking in the countryside north of the village, intending not to think about anything." And it is then that the blues of the sky, dotted with a few clouds, are the perfect backdrop for the pastures that seem to want to wither more each day, and the gentle breeze carries sounds of animals and people that barely seem like murmurs, and the mountains in the distance seem to observe the valley with the typical curiosity of someone looking at a painting... These are days of clear skies, of almost completely deserted paths, of dust clouds rising unexpectedly; these are ideal days to observe the landscape here and understand it...

Esto es un poco algo así como: "Yo caminando en el campo al norte del pueblo, con la intención de no pensar en nada". Y es entonces cuando los azules del cielo, salpicados con algunas nubes, son el fondo perfecto para los pastizales que parecen querer marchitarse más cada día, y la brisa suave trae sonidos de animales y personas que apenas parecen murmullos, y las montañas a lo lejos parecen observar el valle con la curiosidad típica de quien mira alguna pintura... Son días de cielos despejados, de caminos casi absolutamente solitarios, de polvaredas levantándose por sorpresa; son días ideales para observar el paisaje aquí y entenderlo...

Colors take center stage in every direction, I suppose because of the indescribably changing light of these January mornings. And there's a bit of everything: Trees that cling to their green foliage while others simply shed their leaves, revealing the complex structure of their curiously whitish branches and trunks; some soil too orange to seem native, lending a xerophytic touch that demonstrates just how diverse these spaces can be, nestled between savannas, grasslands, hills, and the occasional small forest...

Los colores cobran un protagonismo notorio en casa mirada hacia cualquier parte, supongo que es por la luz indescriptiblemente cambiante de las mañanas en estos días de Enero. Y hay un poco de todo: árboles que persisten en su follaje verde mientras otros simplemente se desnudad y exhiben la compleja estructura de sus ramas y troncos curiosamente blanquecinos, algunas tierra demasiado anaranjada para parecer de aquí, regala un toque xerófilo que demuestra cuan diversos pueden ser estos espacios que existen entre sabanas, pastizales, colinas y algunos pequeños bosques...

And speaking of trees; a huge "bucare", bursting with its orange and red blossoms, offers an additional explosion of color against the perfectly blue sky at a bend in the narrow road. My breath catches in my throat, and I remember when I was a child and used to come here just like now, and the flowering bucares then, too, seemed to me a work of art created by God for the sheer pleasure of delighting our eyes...

Y hablando de árboles; un enorme "bucare" repleto de sus flores entre naranja y rojas, brinda una ovación de colores adicional contra el cielo perfectamente azul en una curva del camino angosto. Y la respiración se me corta, y me recuero cuando era un niño y venía aquí igual que ahora, y los bucares florecidos entonces, también me parecían una obra de Dios haciendo arte por el puro placer de alegrarnos la mirada...
