#GRATEFULVIBES - ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE/WEEKLY THOUGHTS - 17 JUL 2023 - 23 JUL 2023

Good morning, Hive-ians! 😊
image.png
Spending time outside with our Chickadees, between rain showers. 😊
image.png
After the Chickadees had their fill, Smudge stopped by for our daily snack and chat. 😊
image.png
It was so neat having the Chickadees and Smudge taking turns visiting me, a fantastic way to spend part of my day. 😊
image.png
I caught one of our pigeons leaving after they finished their bedtime snack, and I thought it was pretty cool, even with the pigeon being blurry. What do you think? 😊
image.png
The squash and zucchini are doing well, and it looks like we should get a nice harvest of both. 😊
image.png
This shot of a couple splayed pigeon wings in the sunset is my favourite pigeon picture of the week. 😊
image.png
Our neighbour got his chicken coop finished and came by to pick up his rooster Jack (foreground) and hen Jemima, but we also gave him our hatchlings Duo and Dot (the circled two in the background, rooster, and hen, respectively, to replace his hen that got eaten in early spring and I have to admit it was weird not seeing them this morning. 😊
image.png
The Bee Balm is flowering, that’s so cool, to us, at least. 😊
image.png
We did an experiment with some mild spicy peppers we bought at the grocery store, and these are the first peppers from that experiment and there are a bunch of blossoms for other peppers too. 😊
image.png
It looks like all our pepper plants are producing peppers or have blossoms on them now, so exciting as we tried a bunch of new types this year, like this little Rainbow Blend pepper above. 😊
image.png
Some of this week’s buns. 😊
image.png
I also made three batches of cinnamon buns this week. 😊
image.png
Hanging out with the lovely Smudge. 😊
image.png
Smudge giving me the once over. 😊
image.png
Anyone know what this bug is? 😊
image.png
Our Bee Balm has a second colour of flower growing on it, this pretty pale pink. 😊

WARNING:

My apologies to any arachnophobe’s, but this is the first white spider I’ve ever seen and I couldn’t help myself, I had to share her. Please skip this next picture to avoid any trauma to your person. I’ll leave a couple of blank lines and a note after the photo, so you know you’re safe to look again. 😊

image.png

NOTE: Okay, you’re safe to look at the rest of the pictures, there are no more spider pictures in the rest of the post. 😊

image.png
Some of our lovely sunset colours. 😊
image.png
This pictures looks like I painted the pigeons into it. 😊
image.png
Smudge hanging out this morning. 😊
image.png
Bee Balm blossoms, enough for a whole bouquet. 😊
image.png
Smudge hanging out on my lap this morning while she enjoyed her breakfast. 😊
image.png
We’ve got peppers! 😊
image.png
Lots of different types of peppers! 😊
image.png
We’ve got Sweetie Snack Mix peppers, Mini Bell peppers, Rainbow Blend peppers and regular Red, Yellow, Orange and Green Bell peppers on the sweet peppers side and then we’re also growing Pepper Monet, Wicked Ghost, Gusto Italia, Hungarian Wax and another one that I can’t remember the name of on the spicy pepper side. 😊
image.png
Well, that was how things have been going for us here. I hope you have all been safe and healthy and have had an amazing week! I’m grateful to God for blessing us with another week to share with you here. 😊 God bless you all. 😊 Have an awesome week everyone! 😊

A couple of the images didn't load for me, but I am very envious of your rapport with those critters.
We have chipmunks here, but the cat now keeps them away (or eaten for all I know)
Whatever, counting what I feed him, he is eating very well ha ha ha

Welcome back my friend, thanks for visiting! 😊

Oh no, which ones? I'll have to go back through and see if I can figure out what I did that made them not show. Thank you, she's the first chipmunk that I've gotten to hang out on me and eat out of my pocket. I'm happy to keep sharing the pictures I take of her, for you and those that have other animals deterring them from getting to enjoy their chipmunks as much as we enjoy ours. It's been so fun getting her to the point where I can move around and pet her while she's there too! 😊

Yes, our five dogs are quite good at chasing our squirrels and chipmunks away and they will eat them if they catch them before we see them going after them, which is why we always bang all over the door to scare them away whenever we're letting the dogs out; just in case. 😊

God bless you and your wonderful family. Have an awesome day my fabulous friend! 😊

I just went through the post and it's showing all the pictures for me, though some are taking a bit longer to load, but if you let me know which ones didn't load, I'll try to attach copies in a reply, if that's allowed...

Now everything is showing, but I am viewing through ecency this time, I think earlier it was Peakd, PLUS this is an entirely new and different PC. Brand new, right outta the box and I've spent all afternoon with computer techs in remote control, and it is STILL buggy

Oh, well that's good, at least you can see them all now. I'm glad it wasn't something I did because I was racking my brain, but couldn't figure out what I might have done to mess it up. LOL! 😊

I wish you luck with your new PC. I'm almost thinking about not getting a new one the next time mine dies, but that changes with the day and of course will depend on funds availability when it happens. 😊

Quite a week with the birds and animals. Peppers look great! And I like spiders, your white one was cool!

Welcome back lovely lady, thanks for visiting! 😊

Yes, indeed it has been. We think so too, we're really excited every time we see a new pepper pop up and looking forward to harvesting/trying some of the new ones. The really spicy ones are not for us, they're going to be gifted to people that like the spice and also going out to the chickens as a natural deworming option. 😊

Thank you, I thought so too as I've never seen an albino spider before. Our daughter would hate the picture and ask me to burn the property down, she hates spiders that much, of course I wouldn't though, because I don't mind spiders, as long as they aren't crawling on my head or face. LOL! &#12852

I'm ready for bed, after another busy day, though its only 7pm so I'll have to wait a little longer as the chickens don't go to bed until around 9pm at this time of year. Well, I've had my post supper rest, that means it's time to go clean up the kitchen, so it doesn't look like a disaster in the morning. Baking from scratch sure takes up a lot of dishes, who knew, LOL! 😊

God bless you and your wonderful family. Have an awesome day my fabulous friend! 😊

Re: peppers as dewormer. They are a nightshade and should be used judiciously. Other wormers, also to be used judiciously, are wormwood, tansy, southernwood. Any squash/pumpkin seed had natural deworming properties, and these are less toxic.

Thanks for the tip...we might just use the squash seeds instead, to be safe. We like our flock and don't want to lose any of them right now, so we'll do our best to keep them healthy and happy. 😊

Cooking from scratch also takes a lot of dishes, as my brother has discovered living here.

Yes, that is true, but at least we know exactly what's in our food when we make it from scratch ourselves and we can almost always pronounce all the ingredients. (There are a few out there that give a lot of people trouble; like Worcestershire Sauce; though that's one I'll never use as I'm allergic to seafood/shellfish/fish, but it's still hard to say.) LOL! 😊
