Good morning, Hive-ians! 😊

Our house tomato plant getting a trimming. 😊

The lovely Nacho hanging out on my handsome husband. 😊

This planter and the one beside it, have got to be one of our best ROI (return on investment) purchases ever. We bought it two years ago and thought it would die and we’d just repurpose the pots for our spider plants, but they just keep coming back bigger and prettier each year. 😊
image.png
I keep seeing clips about the great chicken armies around the globe, but people are forgetting the power of the pigeons, seen putting on an air show here. 😊
image.png
We have no idea where the beautiful blue blooms came from, but they make a nice addition of contrasting colour to the pot with the purple flowers, and we think they look lovely after each watering and/or trim. 😊
image.png
The setting sun shining through the clouds. 😊
image.png
The yeast starting to activate for one of our batches of bread/buns this week. 😊
image.png
I tried to braid the bread and then shape it into the loaf pan before baking and this is what it looked like after it was done baking. 😊
image.png
This is my favourite sunset shot from the week. 😊
image.png
This is my favourite photo of the always fabulous, Rose, from this week. 😊
image.png
Our first Roma tomatoes are forming, that’s so cool. 😊
image.png
It looks like our test Roma tomato plant likes being beside the rock wall, she looks stunning and should produce quite a yield with all the buds on her. 😊
image.png
We have a new bunny that has decided to move onto our homestead and drive our dogs nuts, (the black blur in the bottom left is our pretty puppy mom Karma, getting ready to eat the bunny,) by coming closer and closer to the house. 😊
image.png
Smudge the chipmunk came by several times this week. 😊
image.png
There is something so relaxing about starting your day with a cup of tea and a chat with a squirrel. 😊
image.png
This pepper plant has been our best producer so far. We’ve harvested five bell peppers from her so far and there are still more coming. 😊
image.png
Some of our hatchlings have started to lay already. Their eggs are still tiny, (the left egg, (beside the dental floss, for size comparison,) but they will grow larger as the hens themselves grow and the eggs will eventually end up being somewhere between the middle and right egg sizes. 😊
image.png
The potatoes looked amazing yesterday before the downpour. 😊
image.png
Our neighbour gifted us this Ground Cherry plant. We’ve never grown or eaten them before, so we’ll have to look up how to know when to pick them. Anyone eaten these and would like to share ideas on what to use them in, please leave a comment below and help me learn. 😊
image.png
I tried a little recipe tweaking this week and these oatmeal/chocolate chip/coconut cookies were the result. 😊
image.png
I decided to try using half of the tortilla dough I made this week for pizza instead and it turned out pretty good. 😊
image.png
We had some crazy rain here this week. 😊
image.png
It even changed directions midway through the downpour. 😊
image.png
A parent teaching its youngster how to gather food. 😊
image.png
We had a new type of bird stop in for a visit this week, it was smaller than a Blackbird, larger than a Chickadee, but almost looks Hummingbird-sized here next to one of our Pigeons. 😊
image.png
The brave and beautiful Dawn, coming down for a snack and chat. 😊
image.png
Well, that was how things have been going for us here. I hope you have all been safe and healthy and have had an amazing week! I’m grateful to God for blessing us with another week to share with you here. 😊 God bless you all. 😊 Have an awesome week everyone! 😊

Your veggies all are doing so well! We have had a lot of rain here, my gauge for the week is over 6". And much more threatened today. it's done the change direction thing and was so intense it came in many of the awning windows. I've had the awning window in the dining room since 2007 and this is the first year the rain came in through it!

Hope you can figure out what your new bird is. Your pizza looks wonderful. I always liked seeing the baby bird eggs and watching them get larger over the following months.

Welcome back lovely lady, thanks for visiting! 😊

It looks like were experiencing the same weather again. It's a good thing you had the awning window though, or you'd have had to keep every window closed through the whole storm instead of having to close them at the height of the storm. We got a torrential downpour yesterday that beat the heck out of everything, here as well. Our potato plants were big enough to withstand it, but they look pretty rough today. Some of our onions got knocked down and washed out, so we had to put those back in the ground, but everything else seems to have survived well enough. Lord willing, we'll still get a great harvest of everything and be able to store and share everything with our sons family and our neighbours. 😊

I didn't get a single clear picture of the new bird, so identifying it will have to wait until they come by again and snap a good photo. 😊

Soon our neighbour will have his chicken coop finished. That means Jack and Jemima will be going home and we'll be sending a few of the hatchlings home with them, to help them start their flock. We think it's nice that we were able to add some new genetics to our flock thanks to his hens and now we're sending back some new genetics to help his flock grow as well. 😊

We have decided to start hatching our own eggs out every year. If, we're successful, there should always be chicken available for the freezer and there will also be loads of chick pictures to come. 😊

Okay, my break is over, time for me to go vacuum. Chat with you again later. 😊

God bless you and your wonderful family. Have an awesome day my fabulous friend! 😊

Welcome friend, thanks for visiting! 😊

Awe, thank you for that, that's a beautiful compliment. I'll give them your message the next time they visit, which will likely be tomorrow. LOL. 😊

You should check out my posts throughout the summer while we have the chipmunks and squirrels all coming to hang out with us on the porch. I've got a female chipmunk that we call Smudge that sits on my lap and eats, while I chat with her. We have a few different squirrels that have been visiting us for the past three years. It's very cool when they come to trust us enough to eat out of our hands or while sitting on our lap. I've even gotten to pet a few squirrels and Smudge my chipmunk pal...they are super soft. 😊

This week we've been enjoying the Ravens, Blue Jays, and Snow Buntings along side our usual flocks of Pigeons, watching their antics is a fantastic way to spend a freezing winter day that I would recommend to anyone, it's very relaxing and enjoyable. 😊

God bless you and yours. Have an awesome day my friend! 😊

Yeah, but I still got to find her through your posts because you made me so curious. Any link to cut of some time? It might take me more than I thought to find her in your posts. Or maybe make a photo with her next time you see her and add me. I'll love to say Hi to her :)
