This is just incredible what we're seeing here! Is encountering such a magnificent fungi in the United States something common, or do you need a bit of luck?
This species of lichen is common in the Great Lakes region where I live, but most people do not notice them since they are very small. The saucer-like structures that are in these photos are only 2-3 millimeters in diameter.
