Talinum paniculatum is a succulent subshrub in the family Talinaceae that is native to much of North and South America, and the Caribbean countries. It is commonly known as fameflower.
Description.
It has smooth, fleshy,oval to oblong and bright green leaves with stems reddish ir green, growing up to 30- 70cm tall,they have small,pink to purple like flowees and tiny round seeds capsules that often turn brown when matured.

Common Characteristics
They Prefers sunny, well-drained soil.
Can grow from seeds or stem cuttings.
Drought-tolerant and fast-growing.
Benefits and Uses:
Can be used to treat anemeia and fatigue
The leaves are edible and rich in vitamins A and C, calcium, and iron.
Sometimes used for healing wounds and skin conditions.
Can be used as ornamental due to their beautiful state.
Used in soups and stews (in our locality we use to prepare "ofe akwukwo" which is made with the water leaf and other vegetables.)


Care Tips:
Full sun to partial shade.
Water daily but do not waterlog
Easily grown for cutting of seeds or stems
Pinch off old flower stalks to encourage new leafy growth.
